I don't think this is just about house wives. I think this is about anyone who feels trapped in their routine, regardless of the routine. Not everyone is lucky to do what they want in life, most people do what they need to, to survive and taking those steps into what you want to do, what you dream of doing is incredibly scary and often ends in failure, rejection... or being hit by a metaphorical car. it also feels naïve to suggest people don't fall into the 'house wife' life. It's often more expensive for parents to pay for childcare than what they may earn, resulting in sacrifice, we also live in a world where men are often paid more, so it is often the women who sacrifice their professional life to look after children to save money.

I liked your reaction but I disagree with what you said about stay at home moms aren't as encouraged anymore and you cant get stuck in a relationship like that these days. For me its more about a mom whose only seen as a mother and wife, like that's her only purpose is to care for other people instead of caring about herself and what she wants but i understand where your coming from

About the SAHM thing, lots of people are somewhat forced into it because they make less than daycare costs, have a child with special needs, etc. So, it’s still kind of common to not be a choice. About 20% of households with a child under 18 today have a stay at home parent (percentages vary between 18 and 28% depending what you look at)
@nutmeg4182 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure the reaction makes a lot of sense when talking about how people don't get his humor/content because it's highbrow and then .. just the confusion you had about some of the deeper points. for example glossing over the possible abusive relationship aspect when she wakes up to her husband screaming like every day.

something felt kinda constipated.. I watched till the end because I’m not gonna comment on anything I haven’t watched and I also haven’t seen any of your other content so this may just be how you normally act. But tbh the vibe was awkward and was like u really didn’t want to watch it but did it anyway and felt u were just annoyed. I usually never drop comments like this but what the hell. About the stay at home mom thing.. like.. chickens.. they still have the traditional gender roles and hens haven’t started any female chicken rights movement yet (as far as I know) so it totally fits the script.

Enjoyable reaction, not so much the mansplaining when it comes to the struggle of stay-at-home mums in today's society. Other than that, always nice to listen to the wonderful Bo and people's take on his work.
@SubparProfessional2 жыл бұрын
You used the word "mansplain" unironically. That's one of those things that quickly tells you A LOT about a person. Probably a word you should remove from your daily vernacular unless you're as predictable and intolerable as those who use that word typically are. I'll assume you are not as such, and would softly recommend avoiding the term in the future if that's the case. Cheers!

I know this is super late but Unpaid Intern isn't about react content at all. It's about the constant toxic feedback loop in his own head. He hates how selfcritical he is and how he constantly judges his actions and thoughts and thoughts about his thoughts. That song has nothing to do with this content except in form.

At a time where abortion is being criminalized in more than half of the states and we're safe sex is also being discouraged by the same people that promote abortions, you'd understand why I actually is more likely that women would find themselves in these situations they're forced to be mothers and wives in a situation that they wouldn't want to be in hence their feeling trapped and lacking in any sort of self-fulfillment

Who thought that reaction channels were evil? And making it such a really vague criticism is actually unlike Bo Burnham. He was just breaking down what it was to be a reaction channel. Someone who's trying too hard to be likable while also trying to seem smart with a contradictory attempt at a sense of humility. Which he never claimed was an absolute

jeepers, first video I've seen by you, and all you're doing is attacking viewers after most of your comments. You probably should settle down on that aspect, ignore feedback from those type of people, and just enjoy and vibe off the content your watching. I'm not gonna lie, it was rough getting through your reaction when the first 4 minutes of your video, half your comments are insults toward certain viewers. You're a relatively small channel, and if you're already hot and bothered by some trolls, or negative people. This might not be your jam brother. Just some things to think about. When you're not taking the piss at certain viewers, your other comments during the reaction are good and fun to watch As for pausing during reactions, that's perfectly fine. But there is a fine balance of when people over due it. For example if your pausing a video after every 10-20 seconds, then giving a 1-5 minute description of your though process on whatever the artist just said, that's annoying. And on top of that, you're ruining the experience of the content your watching. Cause you're interrupting the story. Watching a react person take a 2-5 minute piece of content and stretch it out into 15-20 minutes. Those are the bad reactors. Not saying you do that, like I mentioned this is the first bit of content I've seen from you. But watching other's react, those are the channels/ reactions I avoid. I appreciate pausing when it makes sense. When it's over done it's really a drag to watch. Also it's funny because a lot of reactors will over pause to try and get around youtube's copyright bots, it's like brah! That's not going to stop them lol.

@@SubparProfessional Double downing on the insults. And further more attempting to insult me? That's a very interesting move, and kinda proves my point. You do realize my comment was almost all positive right? My only feedback was how you were addressing negative comments on previous videos you've made, and my thoughts on reactors who abuse pausing in videos. Which I never said you abused by the way, lol. Either you misread what I wrote, or you're acting as if my suggestion comment was an insult to your very being, which it wasn't by the way. I just want to clear that up because holy cow did you jump to conclusions here and do some crazy mental gymnastics. And even funnier yet, you literally tried to diagnose my entirety as if your some intellectual superior. Seriously dude, go back and read what you wrote. No one talks like this. But okay, keep up that diva mentality. I'm honestly sorry my comment hurt your apparently fragile ego. That wasn't the goal, I swear. I merely saw a red flag in your video, and wanted to point it out for you. I don't know what world you live in, but very few people become successful when they focus a lot on insulting their crowd/audience. Anyway, good luck on this type of engagement with potential viewers. Hopefully it takes you far. Not my cup of tea though. This is where I'll leave ya. Good luck on your journey as well sir.

You shouldn't listen to bo's music the same way you listen to modern mainstream music. Each song is completely different musically, and each has multiple different messages that you can take from the lyrics, specifically in his later music. His early work was very punchline/shock based comedy, whereas his more recent songs have layered meanings, metaphors, and analogies that provoke discussions on topics that are generally too heavy to address directly or are easier to digest with a healthy dose of comedy.
@dr.atheist30872 жыл бұрын
I don't like modern mainstream music (most of it) my understanding of bo is he's a comedian who likes to talk(or make a song) about serious/semi-serious subjects his style just isn't for me. I've seen some of his newer stuff and i wasn't a fan. I just don't enjoy comedians who aren't funny haha
