Everyone starts with this song. Great song but a better song to hear the vocal qualities of the female singer Maria is the first song of this live concert: In Maidjan. Also, from the same LIFA live at Castlefest concerts: Alfadhirhaiti Othan Hamrer hippyer. Yes, real human forearm bones.

And if you want to hear a really weird instrument, check out in maidjan from this same concert, which features a "ravanahatha- the oldest kind of stringed instrument in the world played with a bow. (The song is also featured in the trailer for hellblade ii: senua's saga, which they are reportedly doing the soundtrack for) and Maria does some herd calling insanity you cant miss.

English lyrics: What am I supposed to do if I want to talk about peace and understanding But you only understand the language of the sword What if I want to make you understand that the path you chose leads to downfall But you only understand the language of the sword What if I want to tell you to leave me and my beloved ones in peace But you only understand the language of the sword So I let the blade do the talking So my tongue shall become iron And my words the mighty roar of war Revealing my divine arrows shall strike All action for the good of all I see my reflection in your eyes But my new age has just begun The sword is soft in the fire of the furnace It hungers to be hit and wants to have a hundred sisters In the coldest state of their existence That they may dance the maddest in the morass of the red rain Beloved brother enemy I sing this song for you The lullaby of obliteration So I can wake up with a smile And bliss in my heart And bliss in my heart Coexistence, conflict, combat, devastation, regeneration, transformation That is the best I can do for you I see a grey gloom on the horizon That promises a powerful sun to rise To melt away all moons It will make the old fires of purification...purification Look like dying embers... Look like dying embers... Look like dying embers...

From wikipedia: "Heilung is an experimental folk music band made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Viking Age. Heilung describe their music as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe". Their music is usually about Norse deities, jǫtnar, and valkyries. "Heilung" is a German noun meaning "healing" in English"......and I absolutely love them! I would recommend you react to Norupo, In Maidjan or Alfadhirhaiti next.

I don't have much to say except these folks are awesome. They've been on my radar for a while. And while this certainly isn't daily listening, there's something about it that scratches a certain itch that only they can. It's primal and intense and a spectacle to behold. That "metal bell sound" is just some broken bits of metal stuff the guy in the way back with the badger headress is hitting with a stick. He's just got them suspended from strings. He and the guy using shells on the drum are alternative percussionists brought on for the concert.

Heilung is German for healing. They just announced their second us tour. You have to read the comments in any of their videos. Hysterical and accurate! I have given my own names to their songs, so Hammer hippie is my favorite followed by filthy fuck rock. Elizabeth from the charismatic voice had Maria on her channel I think within the last year. I’ve had several disjointed thoughts here that I wanted to share without writing a novel so pardon the staccato sentences.

According what i've heard the project was started by the 2 guys, with them just running around in the backyard, chanting and making sounds and rythms. Maria dropped by and found it interesting and joined the "play", and it kind of evolved from there. Though the studio version is good, it is kind of let down by the use of "organic" sound. But the audio from the concert was used and they did make a cd of it.
