Not only in 2021, this is the best album I've seen in music as a whole. aespa cemented themselves of pushing the boundaries the kpop has to offer. They play with unconventional soundscapes in experimentation and metallic hyperpop textures. I can clearly understand what aespa cemented themselves in musical identity. This hyperpop mini shows how versatile this genre is and this whole album is reminiscent to Thatkid, Sophie and Charli XCX.

This f(x) fan loves aespa... of course they're not f(x) but they're the closest we've gotten. Just praying they don't meet the same fate 🙏

Same here! As a longtime MeU this album literally put aespa on my radar. Their prior releases aren't my cup of tea though, so this was a great surprise for me

This is a very satisfying reaction. I love it when you guys touch the details of the song. The whole album is indeed really great with all those variety of sounds and the vocals are so insane. SM really introduced aespa's color with a bang!

I listen Yeppi-yeppi more than Savage. But the whole album is Incredibly good.
@handicui9603 жыл бұрын
IMO Savage does end in G#, if you abide to the barely hearable sub base note, which is in G#, and Ningning’s last note ending on F#, which would fit well with the last few notes in her vocal run and resembles a vage G# minor 7th chord.

i was anticipating an album from aespa and they really blew away my mind each and every song is just so good! i liked lucid dream the most

This is the reaction I've been waiting for! I really love this album and this solidified my admiration for aespa. Also, Umu and I basically have the same reaction to YEPPI YEPPI. 🤣 In my opinion, ICONIC could easily fit into f(x)'s Pink Tape while Lucid Dream could be a velvet RV track. YEPPI YEPPI, on the other hand, is a fusion of f(x) and Red Velvet's tracks. Love all SM girl groups! ❤️

Naevis is the one who made Kwangya and allowed the reality (real people) to synk with the ae or Avatars (have counterpart avatars. Synk: to be connected with the ae)... Kwangya is not really out of space like Mars, Jupiter and etc. but it's like a different universe - the virtual world that we are all in. And in the song "Savage" Naevis sacrificed herself to defeat the black mamba (see the bridge of the song) so probably in the next title track of Aespa, they'll resurrect Naevis.

Came as soon as I saw the notification! Your outfits and Sean’s nails are gorgeous! ✨ Each song on this album is so good and reinvigorated my love for K-Pop. This album gives me 2nd gen vibes but still sounds so fresh and modern and is the epitome of hyperpop. aenergy is a great way to introduce the members, Savage leaves such a strong impression of the girls’ talent, I’ll Make You Cry is so hard hitting and intense, Yeppi Yeppi is super catchy and motivating, Iconic is as the title says iconic and distinct, and Lucid Dream is soft and melodic. Lucid Dream is my favorite though. It’s a nice way to end off the album since the rest of the songs are so high energy that something softer and calming was really necessary. But each song is so good. Super proud of aespa for already having cemented their signature sound. They’re like the girl version of NCT but they’re still distinct and different. This is an incredible first mini album and I’m so excited for what aespa will release next.

I'll make you cry sounds like an NCT 127 song to me. And Yeppi Yeppi is my favorite track, but I just wish they ended the song after that last chorus instead of including the post chorus. All in all, the album had my full attention from beginning to end.

I hear some SOPHIE / PC Music inspired elements in parts of this album. Some really interesting and captivating moments. The lyrics relating to the universe remind me of a musical or something, I think it's super cool.

OMG FINALLYYYY!!!!!! I'm living for this guys reaction 💖 Almost all the time I have the same reactions that she had when she listened to Yeppi Yeppi, and it's sad because when I get caught doing that they don't understand and sometimes even make fun of me. So... it's nice to see someone feeling the same about kpop or music in general.

it's aespa's style of a somewhat summer vibe song and people are probably expecting a red velvet type of summer song from them but keep in mind lot of people didnt like red flavor too at first and now it's one of their most successful songs

Honestly I have to say this is probably the best album of the year. I haven’t been this amazed by a group with just a mini album in yeaaaars. I may not like all of Aespa’s title tracks, but this album just blew me away. Sure, this wasn’t the album of the year in terms of popularity, but it was the best one.

Since I started being a kpop fan, this is the first album I listened to that I really love all the songs. All of the songs stood out but also they are all different from each other.
