Idk why you put your own interview on here loudwire, but the person right afterwards isn't even an actual journalist. It's Link from GMM.

@Owen J. Nope. Still the same bullshit awkward questions that a five year old would ask. No follow-up techniques whatsoever, no flow and themes between questions, and zero chemistry. He sucks more now because, after all these years, he should be better.

Remember when the whole point of being an interviewer was to ask questions that the fans really wanted to know about the band? Like how they got started, what inspired them, if they could leave their current genre to pursue another which would they try, you know stuff like that? Instead of "what's your favorite color? Oh you like traveling bro? Hey you like food? So, do you sleep?"
@thefreehealer7923 жыл бұрын
I don't see anything wrong with the second part though. Ultimately, interviews are designed to ask questions that's about the person as well. You have to get to know them as well. It shouldn't just be about music, it can also be more about personal things too.

I was once (back when I worked as a journalist for a local newspaper) end up having to interview a pretty big artist that was visiting our town. I knew this bloke was pretty fun and badass, and seemed cool and kinda ironically larger-than-life without being serious about it. So I had prepared a bunch of questions I thought he might like, and when I showed up to do the interview, he's like dead fucking serious, had only bodyguards/security wanks around him in his dressing room, and I spent some time feeling him out as I was rigging up my kit. I thought I would gradually go into more and more interesting/fun questions as we went a long. Long story short, I got a 20 minute recording of him basically praising his new road manager for making his tour as dynamic as possible for him, and for having good catering. He wasn't even interested in talking about music, his fans, or that his career was going very well. It was absolutely shit he gave me. And to this day I don't know if he was being serious, or just a total troll and a very underrated actor. He was only slightly tipsy on a couple of beers, and looked slightly tired, but it was the worst "professional" interview I ever did, and it ended up just being a written article instead of a video bit as was intended. And, usually I used to get compliments from most of the serious musicians I interviewed. One of the more renowned musicians I ever met, even sent me a text after reading the article I had written to thank me for actually asking good and relevant questions (considering local media is usually pretty damn loose in doing their research). Frankly, the research was my favourite bit of the job. The only think I could even spend a lot of my spare time on.

Here in Brazil, in the early 90s, Mike Patton was interviewed by a famous local magazine called Veja. In one moment, they ask him who was his favourite actress and Mike answers: Divine! "But Divine is a man"- the journalist says. "What a coincidence" - replies Mike. Definetely, Mike was - and still is - ahead of his time.
