There's another Dany Day video *(about an hour long)* where Dany *(with Pau being the cameraman [I guess using Petunia??])* going over her peddleboard. It's an hour long because Dany goes over every step first in English then Español. Plus the sisterly chatting.

Dany is such a happy bubbly personality that always enjoy listening to what she has to say. This was quite interesting and kind of fun as well. Amazing how much technology they pack into those "inearz" considering the size. Thanks guys.

The technology in an in ear growing so rapidly it is simply impossible to keep up with unless you follow it daily. A good source is AudioXpress and their weekly email vlog. The mag is not cheap but is one of the few remaining magazines in the audio space left. I focus on DIY but there things across the board... their weekly email covers development announcement news plus updates from the equipment shows around the world. They also throw in the occasional hardware article plus a speaker driver review from sister magazine Voice Coil. Voice Coil focuses on speakers and driver development. Both mags have been around for decades evolving as audio has evolved. I once had every issue going back to its start as Audio Amateur but lost them in a fire. Heart breaking as my issue with the Zen amp had been autographed by Nelson Pass himself😢. But any way, ear speakers are one of the few areas of audio that has real dollars being newly invested.

A quick little extra about Ale's Euro IV's, in the spring of 2019 she had all new custom electronics installed. She had given her white euro IV away as part of their 2020 Kickstarter campaign for their (then) upcoming North American Tour and Error album.

Dany is a total guitar nerd. Honestly, I think she looked more comfortable, especially doing solos, with the Rick Toone guitars. Maybe the difference is the fan frets. Once you get used to that, it changing your approach angle. So to switch to PRS, she had to make the re-adjustment to straight frets. Granted she has played the PRS long enough that the difference in her approach is slight, but still, she makes some errors when playing some of the older songs that she never made when she played the RT guitars.

Interesting observation. I know she can’t talk about that openly as a PRS artist, but it would be great to hear her discuss this candidly.

She doesn’t use the big stubby pick anymore. I used to use them too. I love how easy they are to hold onto, but I don’t always like the sound they produce! And I think that’s basically the same reason she also quit using them. She said that she wanted something more versatile.
@corsa18010 сағат бұрын
She still keeps a couple big stubby picks attached to her mic stand in their most recent performances, so not sure if she uses them on a song or two, but yeah, she has certainly changed her choice of primary pick.
@GregC.Rocks50649 сағат бұрын
That’s possible, it didn’t look like she had any on her mic stand when I saw them in LA and Pomona, but that could vary from show to show too, depending on the set list. 🤟😀👍
@corsa1806 сағат бұрын
@@GregC.Rocks5064 Yeah I think it depends on setlist and guitar. I got some good photos of her when I saw them last time in NYC and she had three types of picks on her stand, including some Big Stubbys.

Those Rock Toone guitars had great tone
@Dale-m9t7 сағат бұрын
I loved the tone of her guitars in that era. Not to say the PRS is bad either - just a different tone that worked better IMHO on some of their songs. Of course the reverse is also true! 🤣

I know there is a longer one, or maybe it's entirely separate, where she goes over her peddleboard at this time. It looks like someone got edit crazy and started chopping this video up. Good to see though. Those Big Stubby's really are crazy heavy.
@WaldoKitty3 сағат бұрын
the first time i know of Dany not using a Big Stubby was in the You Oughta Know cover... it was pretty obvious with the closeup and the sound at one point... could hear the pick "plink" as it came off the strings... i'm only saying that was the first time i saw it even if she had been using other picks for a while... To the best of my knowledge, Dany still has a page on Rick Toone’s website. I think he’s redesigned the site since Dany was with him but you can still find Dany’s page. There’s an interesting article on the site that describes in general what happened between TW and Rick Toone and I’ll let you read it yourself, if interested, and make your own determination. I was browsing TW’s website awhile back and they still had Rick Toone listed as a sponsor so maybe they still have some association with him? I haven’t checked recently so maybe he’s no longer listed. TW have gone through at least a couple site redesigns since then. One thing from the article I read was Rick pointed out that Dany’s guitars shown here were actually purchased by TW so I’m sure Dany kept them after the separation and I’ve never really heard what became of them. They sold and gave away various pieces of equipment as prizes for fundraising to both upgrade and finance projects before they got signed. I’m sure someone in TWA knows what happened to them or if she still has them. They really don’t put out many videos from TW Cave anymore so it’s hard to check Dany’s guitar rack in the background.

I found the page, and yes, that explanation is pretty much what I figured happened! Very classy for Rudy to call and let him know. It's in the band's best interest to find funding anywhere they can for touring expenses, kudos to Rick for his understanding. It would be nice to know where those guitars are now. ricktoone.org/category/dany-villarreal
