It’s not Poison Ivy. It’s a reference to Princess Mononoke , a Japanese animated film about a battle between human industrialization and nature. The director of this mv is Cho Gi-seok, a surrealist artist, the same guy who directed Woke Up. You may call the video production over the top but XG is all about pushing boundaries in their music and artistry (Chisa, Vogue interview). There’s nothing “basic” in what they do.

Simon (JAKOPS), their producer/manager, started X-GALAXY, now XGALX. The label is a subsidiary of AVEX, a major Japanese label. Some of the XG members came from AVEX’s artist academy as did many other auditioners.

Yes 👍🏽 I appreciate you coming back to react to XG’s Music. I love the BASS Intro. This one has a partial concept of PRINCESS MONOKE’ and the QR Code actually says “PIG” in lower case lettters. They’re once again GALACTIC WOLVES taking over planets 🪐. There are several MICHAEL JACKSON song references as well. Yes, HARVEY has a POISON IVY look. I would recommend you react to their GIRL GANG MV but the American Sign Language version because it has the full song in it…maybe you could do their choreography or live performance in CHINA. CHINA has an INCREDULOUS STAGE of XG because they performed last year there. XG always does a BEHIND THE SCENES of each of their SONGS. Thank you both for reacting to this one. There’s a couple of live performances on a channel called first take, a must watch in my opinion 🐺

ALPHAZ ON DECK 🐺🐺🐺 many references to anime in the video. Starting with “Memories” by Katsuhiro Otomo right at the beginning, to Ghost in the Shell (Harvey) and of course a lot of Princess Mononoke. Not forgetting, of course, all the other references, for example: Hungergames, Michael Jackson with Thriller and Moonwalk. Then of course the Matrix. Not to mention all the bars. The three vocals here in the video are the goddess and the rappers are the warriors. There are tiny little scenes in the video that are really hard to see. Pay close attention to the frames between minutes 1:30 and 1:31. just one small thing of many. F I G H T I N G there is also the “behind the scenes” video of the MV. Definitely worth watching

I love your reactions and I really like the channel. I would love it if one day you took a look at an artist who has not yet appeared here on the channel, a Japanese duo called Yorushika. Musically excellent, with deep lyrics and wonderful instrumentality, like some artists from Japan, they also don't show their identity and in live shows, they use a whole game of light and shadow that makes everything very cool visually too. I recommend the live Yorushika - “Flower And Badger Game” and “Spring Thief” from Live Previous Life. And also the live Yorushika - “Walk” and “Hole In The Heart” from Live Moonlight. I guarantee you won't regret listening. A hug to you from Brazil.
