The Mother of Rock Festivals is the on stage moment where the Legend of the Warning began imo. It took place on a very hot summers day. The temperature was well above 90 degress F. The stage was set up directly across from a glass fronted building, so that the afternoon sun reflected directly onto the stage, and in the band’s faces. It was so hot that Ale had to be treated for heat stroke after their set. Dany melted her pants to her legs when she knelt down on stage. Pau had buckets of water poured over her in an effort to cool her down. Luis was so worried about his daughters, that he came out from back stage to cut the set short. Pau insisted they play Survive before leaving the stage. After the song, she was carried off the stage by her father. Ale crumpled to the ground once she got off stage, and was treated by paramedics. Other bands were so concerned, that they came into the green room to make sure the girls were ok. Tesla’s drummer said it was the most bad ass rock and roll thing he had seen in a long time. He was so impressed, that he wore a The Warning shirt on stage during their set that night. This show took place after the girls opened for Def Leppard. Joe Elliot was impressed enough to shout them out on his satellite radio program.

The XXICB album had been released a few months earlier and Rudy came up with the idea to help promote the album by having them appear in this May 31 livestreamed promo event for the October 10th MOA Festival. His "Creative Dreams" company did events and promotions so I think he had previous connections with MOAF. The girls played 3 of their own songs, then short covers for each of the 5 groups. There's an 8 second facebook clip floating around that shows Dany playing on stage in a ponytail so I assume there was a (private?) concert after the livestream finished. A few months later (in August) they released a full cover of "Kickstart my Heart" on their KZbin.

TW's gig at the MOA festival is definitely worth a reaction. This was one of the videos that got me hooked (together with the 2017 TEDx talk). I only learned later that Pau and Ale basically had to be carried off the stage, because they were completely exhausted and dehydrated, and Dany had burns on her leg because he pants had started to melt in the hot sun. But all three of them pushed through the whole set. If you don't want to do the whole set, then at least check out the last song, Survive.
@lonelywind351111 күн бұрын
Ale pretty much finished on her own as Pau and Dany were fading. Their dad physically carried Pau off stage and backstage Ale had paramedics attending to her. Dany had an ice pack on her head. One really good thing was how many of the other musicians came by and checked on them to make sure they were OK. Their dad had tried to get them to cut their set short but as they have said before, they are very stubborn. I don't think they would do that again if they were ever in that sort of condition. See Ale down on the floor really made an impression on Pau.
@alexj960311 күн бұрын
@lonelywind3511 I think nowadays they are much better prepared for this type of situation and can handle it much better. They have lots of experience under their belt, and don't forget that they are now adults and in much better physical shape.

Aloha Glenn y Adrian, isn't this the festival where the Ladies all suffered heat stroke? I recently watched an aftermovie from that day where Tyler Bryant and The Shakedown took the time to talk with girls as they were trying to cool down, and they showed real concern for the girls well being. Fun Fact: Tyler Bryant is husband to Rebecca Lovell, singer, songwriter and guitarist of Larkin Poe, two sisters that play southern rock, blues and Americana...Larkin Poe is my other favorite female band...and their musical journey has many parallels to The Warning! #APDVillaReality #TylerBryant #LarkinPoe

@FreezeTheWarning10 күн бұрын
That's a great selection of covers. The Crue's one kicks ass, and I don't know how Pau can sing Walk this Way while playing the drums, she's incredibly talented. Let's remember that Steven Tyler sings that without having to play any instrument, not even a guitar. 14:34 The girls from TW have talked about this, they don't want to repeat the mistakes of their idols, and they want to show that you can play rock without falling into addictions, and living a healthy lifestyle. And there are other young bands that have said the same thing. They also know that they should not sign any dodgy contract with anyone. It looks like this generation of rock musicians is more aware of things, they are smarter, and that is nice to see, because it means we have learned something. So hopefully we won't see any more talented musicians destroying their lifes. Vivan las Wawas!! ⚡🤘

I believe they met Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper's band) at this festival. We watched him interview them in 2022, before they left for Canada with Three Days Grace. Also, I believe the people running this festival may have helped them get the Def Leppard opening gig. It wasn't the Def Leppard people who signed them, but the venue in Mexico City, who needed an opening act for the Def Leppard show. Def Leppard liked them so much that they invited them on to the next show in Guadalajara. Joe Elliott mentions them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYvXnJqjiN1qobc

I think it's different than what you have done before, she starts with Billie Eilish "My Future" but goes on to sing a few show tunes and others. It's a little difficult to follow, there's a lot of Dany talking in between songs, and a lot of the songs are partial, but there is also plenty of good moments packed in to an hour. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXzUZ42hiN9_q7c
