30 Years Ago... Anyone else ever wonder why Jarobi and Phife weren’t hardly ever on stage together?
@MusicMan14705 жыл бұрын
First album, Phife only appeared on a couple of tracks. He and Jarobi were at that time, more like back-ups for Tip and Ali.

well Jarobi left the group ''unofficially'' after the first album in 1990 and became a chef - only when Phife started to get really ill he decided to came back because Jarobi has been helping Phife throughout his diabetes behind the scenes...There was never hard feelings between them only between Phife and Q Tip - to add to your question - at the very beginning of their career and the creation of their 1st album Jarobi played a key role coming up with certain songs and ideas - basically he was the side-kick MC to Tip until he left - so when he left Phife took over that spot - Phife was the youngest of them all and I guess Tip felt that having 3 MC-s on stage would be too much. He wanted more a tag team style...

@@boogiedownbronx73 Actually Jarobi was the youngest.

I Left My Wallet In El Segundo - continues - on a reggae beat.

Music-Man isn’t an alternate version or something. I’ve been trying to find it but i think they only did it here.
@MusicMan14704 жыл бұрын
@@brunopenasmith4754 I also think they only did it here. There are some reggae remix versions of El Segundo, but not with this reggae beat. The beat is used on the Hardcore Ragga album by Gregory Isaacs - Rumours, Lady G - Nuff Respect and others that get down to it.
