Long, long ago, when I was young, my uncle lived next door. He had cable, we didn't. So when he went on vacation I'd have to feed his dog. Naturally, I took a blank vhs tape and recorded whatever videos I could. This jewel was one and it opened up my whole world. De La Soul is Dead is one of my all-time fave records. That tape also had Heavy D, Chubb Rock and more. What a great time to be alive. And especially to be young.

So stoked when this released. Good times, hands down. Saw them in the early 90's, so sick. Also saw BDP in 90 at the Earthday concert, on point. 80's and 90's were the greatest. Later on saw Run-DMC, Erik B. and Rakim, Digable Planets, Beastie Boys and so many others but at 52 getting hard to remember it all😮 Watching the genesis of hip hop, industrial, dance music, trip-hop, post-goth, acid jazz, etc. was insane. Sad to think there is nothing really new anymore. Mumble rap, cold beats, no soul or rhythm anymore except for a few select artists. Grateful I lived, danced and partied through such epic times. Now I know how old timers felt experiencing the 60's and 70's, sorta but better than nowadays. What a shame whippersnappers.
