Hi, how much do lessons cost and are lessons available if I live in North Lincolnshire? I really enjoy these videos and I am currently writing brass band pieces and piano writing so wondering if there was anyway to get in touch.

Thank you Gareth. I liked the part you laughed about using the wrong word. Hahaha. Btw, I have a quick question. Music theory is not something interesting to most people. How did you make it happen? You’re presumably doing great.

That’s most kind. Music theory is a fascinating subject and engaging with it really helps one to understand music. That’s why so many people are engaging with it. Much more at www.mmcourses.co.uk including details of our online courses and of our exciting Maestros programme.

When people ask me am I self-taught because I have taught myself to read music... I don't know how to answer... Taking trumpet lesson in high school 45 years ago... But, I have learned a lot from you and other instructional videos on KZbin as well as books... So I don't know how to answer if I'm self-taught completely... Because who really is... Anyways oh, thank you very much I never could figure out that contralto thing

If I can span from E2 to E4 (E5 with falsetto) in extremes (not claiming I can hit those extremes in confidence and easily), what does that make me? :D
@MusicMattersGB
@MusicMattersGB 3 жыл бұрын
Better to calculate your natural range without falsetto by relating your range to the nearest range identified in the video.

I think of the Mezzo Soprano as the 2nd Soprano/1st Alto range which is quite versatile. There another voice type jokingly called the "bari- tenor."😂

@@MusicMattersGB Sure, is it a coincidence that all the ranges start and end on "natural" notes?

Yes it is and it’s more of a guide than a precise science.
