Hello. What if there was a key signature. Would you still go in the major of the bottom note

Whatever the lower note is go with that. So if F# is in the key signature and the lower note is F# calculate in F# major

Never knew it worked that way with calculating minor/Major/diminished and so on. I could just name the interval by number. It's actually very logical but thanks for explaining that! So if i continue that thinking, the interval from C to Abb would be a dimished 6th, right?
