Over the past few years, MusiCounts has watched music educators rethink what’s possible in music class. This MusiCounts Learn Town Hall will celebrate innovation in music education in Canada:
Dr. Bina John (Assistant Professor, Music Education, University of Toronto) will deliver a special address on the value in embracing innovation, belonging and inclusion in music education.
Three inspirational music educators will reflect on their journey in implementing Indigenous drumming, steel pan percussion, and music technology-based programs at their schools.
The MusiCounts team will provide an update on the exciting changes we’re making to our school-based granting process to make the process easier for educators, and better empower innovation in music education in Canada.
Whether you’re a music teacher looking to submit a MusiCounts grant this fall, or someone looking for inspiration on how to diversify music education offerings at your school, this virtual event will have useful insight for you!
