When should i use the filter envelope or what is it used for on a reverb?

This is a great question. There are a few reasons that immediately spring to mind. In a functional context, if you're using reverb on a drum bus, you might want a low-pass filter that starts closed but opens up over to time, so you can add weight and space without overemphasising the attack of the kick. Alternatively, you might want a low-pass filter with an envelope that closes over time to leave more space for new high-frequency sounds. There are other ways you could use it to keep the feel of having a reverb without it cluttering your mix. If you want to get experimental, though, put it on a drum bus in band-pass mode, turn the resonance all the way up and reverse the IR for some weird rhythmic effects. See how you get on! It can add some really unusual effects. -Will :)
