Brother....your vids are seriously some of the best tutorials out there! Most dudes start BSing or try to make jokes while giving tutorials and then half of the vid ends up worthless & just wasting my time. I truly learn from yours & im not a novice either. Keep it going as it will pay off. Thank you sir!

This is great info. Looking to get BM3 for my iPad Pro. I was hoping this would show how to sample into the iPad using BM3. Not drop pre-made samples from a file.
@MusicTechnologist3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven! I’m planning to cover the sample tab more in a upcoming video! As far as how to record into the sample tab, it’s as easy as pressing the red record button in the top left of the sample tab and pressing start. You can then chop up and edit the sample the same way I showed in this video! I will make sure I demonstrate the full process in an upcoming video!

I'm a beginner using Garageband atm, I'm unsure as to whether I should invest in BM3 or just wait for skills to improve a and potentially BM4? How much more does BM3 give you than Garageband on its own?
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
Great question! I don’t think I’ll ever regret my investment into BeatMaker 3, but there is plenty that GarageBand can do and I think it’s a great program to get started with. I don’t use GarageBand that much, but if you give me some time, I’d love to do an in-depth comparison of the two and maybe make a video of my findings.

Awesome!!! Ive been dying to ask technical questions about this whole choke characteristic! I could never ask cause i didnt know the terminology! That be8ng said how come in beatmaker 3 when i downloaded the packs from the store, say for example i load a drum kitingo my pad it seems that onky some if the samples will choke and others overlap... i have a suggestion on a video...make a video on technical terms and vocab it wold be super helpful...to both you and your audience.... i imagine you have alot of emails from fans that go something like “hey dude when you tweAk the round thingy at the top of the box thing and then you turn down that one knob thing that controls the volume and it kinda distorts the volume as well an dthen you play that note thing thats actually a whole bunvh of notes its called an artisaneggo” if you have a audience educated in terminology i bet it would make the language barrier dissapear... imagine if every time you got sm email to where the person is way to out of touch with producer lingo to even express a sentence in said email...yo could just give em the link to the video and then have them rewrite the email after they eatch the video..just a thought.. love your vids my dude.
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, my guy! As far as the choke functionality goes, you have to make sure each pad is set to the same choke group. This option exists so that the producer has the choice of letting some samples continue uninterrupted, while choking some others. It’s pretty easy to change this in the bottom left of the sample tab. 👍🏽

Hey Hanley! Glad you enjoyed the video! TBH I have no idea where you can get those particular samples anymore. I got them from a friend over a decade ago. If you’re looking for good piano samples though, check out Splice! It’s paid, but for $7.99, you can get a good amount of samples.

Can you make a fool beat plus arrangement using the scenes mode
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do believe this is possible. I think it’s meant more for switching between sections of your song during live performances. Tbh, I really don’t use the scenes mode myself, because I don’t really do stuff live these days, and I also found the layout pretty clunky. If you’re looking to make a full beat arrangement, I would use the song mode.
@aircody3454 жыл бұрын
quick question. when i turn on slice mode and try to move my slice around after auto slicing it, it always creates a new chop. how do i turn that off?
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
You just have to make sure you’re dragging the little triangles at the top, rather than trying to drag within the waveform. 👍🏽
@KiingLevi3 жыл бұрын
Maybe you can go explain how to quickly build a vast majority of sounds and samples. As a noob I really don’t know where to collect my samples from or can we just import our own?
@MusicTechnologist3 жыл бұрын
Definitely hit up the BeatMaker Sound Store from within the app. I also use a lot of splice sounds. Here's a video I did showing how to import samples into BeatMaker 3 ➡️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaapg2t4n9Nonbs
@treysmith17924 жыл бұрын
Can you do a video going more in depth on importing samples? I know how to do it, but when I pull a sample off of KZbin or instagram, it won’t load onto my pads. I can see the file in my imports folder, but when I try to drag and drop it nothing happens.
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
I think that’s a great video topic! I’ll get to work. In the meantime, are you pulling your samples via screen record? If so, you have to import those files into a video editing software such as iMovie or LumaFusion and separate the audio from that video clip, then export as audio only.

As far as I’ve found, there is no feature to automatically detect your tempo. I would just listen and use the tap tempo panel to figure out your tempo.

Hey Christopher! I get my samples from a lot of places. I’ve kinda built up a library over the years. A lot of samples, I don’t even remember where they came from, but I currently get a lot of samples from Splice! I’ve definitely got a video in the works detailing how to import your samples into BM3! Stay tuned!

Why is it that when i record my sample in bm3 it only shows 1 column recorded and the rest of the sample sound is blank?? Please help me M-Tech🙏🏽
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
I’m hoping I’m understanding properly, but it sounds like maybe you have a full sample in, but only the first chunk is highlighted and the rest is greyed out. If that is the case, that is just because you are in slice mode. Tap slice mode again, and it should allow you to see and hear the whole sample.
@knightsofthetemplars86584 жыл бұрын
Music Technologist Thanks for the reply.. Actually it is the full sample.. But I realized that when I hold down the pad or key it records completely showing the note being fully recorded. But if I use one shot or loop it doesn’t record the full notes.. Now I’m just trying to figure out how can I record a full sample where it shows the wave lengths in the bar. Because it only shows the one note being recorded in the same line

Has anyone used the sampler in Beatmaker 3 to chop it up and than export the wavs to FL? Is that possible? Cause sampling on beatmaker 3 is way faster and easier, please someone let me know
@MusicTechnologist4 жыл бұрын
Are you trying to chop the sample into separate wav files and export individually? If so, one way to do this would be to save the bank and make sure to click “save samples.” When you do this, all of your slices will be saved in the bank folder within your session folder, which you can access through the files app.
