I've been wondering for a long time why the only brand I know that does low latency wireless studio headphones is AIAIAI... Especially since we've had low latency wireless audio for mics, instruments, and in ear monitors for a long time. Why tf isn't it super common for studio headphones? Or just headphones in general. Why are the only options basically only wired and bluetooth?!

Can confirm that this works well! after trying a few wireless setups and them having poor audio quality and/or unacceptable latency, im not seeing a perceptible difference in Ableton, or when creating on my keyboard or drumming on my Push 2. For my at home setup I've flattened the EQ on a pair of XM5's that I put in ANC mode (i like to create with minimal external noise), then use ATH-M50's when I want to actually mix/master. Perfect combination for me.

yeap..that is the point...Ive already got 28ms latency onmy DAW using a Fantom 7 as well...but Id like to have a bluetooth outout with lower latency...ASIO4ALL I could not find bluetooth option and on roland interface there is none either...alternative is ASIOFLSTUDIO....you play and two minutes later you are able to hear the notes lol.... Ive been also trying to find some binaural rendering adaptor n no sucess..I gather I was beaten up ...I must wait for the tech to improve and lower costs...

Have you compared latency with the aiaiai headphones? Do they sound different? Less/more latency?

What I’m looking for is a zero latency wireless setup for a home rehearsal studio. Each musician would be wearing headphones with a headset mic so that we can communicate (or even sing). So the wireless to the needs to be bidirectional. Stereo output to the headphones and mono input from the mic. Does anything like that exist?

It is not low latency. it is 12ms and when using with a wireless jack system it becomes unusable due to latency coming from both wireless systems. 4-5ms can do the job

(awesome setup with the keyboard/ipad dock!) ive been looking for wireless receivers like this. i have bose headphones and dont want them going to waste since im turned off with bluetooth latency, so this might bring them back to life. good find!

Thanks for recommending this product man . I've always Hated having a cord dangling against me . For the short cord I just cut the original headphone wire from the right side to about 3" and cut about 2" from the original plug and soldered them together with heat shrink over each of the 3 wires and a larger heat shrink over that . Quite a pain with the tiny wires . After stripping and before soldering each connection I had to burn each end first with a lighter due to the nylon strands and epoxy coating on the wires . Cleaned with rubbing alcohol before soldering as well . Very low latency and good sound .

What about low end loss in this set up.? Seems like a lot is lost in the lower frequencies.

Thanks. Can headsets with mics be used into an iPad? Does the wifi on the iPad interfere with the signal? I want to use this to create a mix in my iPad and send it to a Behringer XAir.

What about transmitting to Ipods or other native type BT headphones. I have some Status 3ac and want to try to mix on them. Can I just use the transmitter?

Bro pls tell me where you got the aux cable for the headphones I look so stupid rn with the audio technica to aux adapter sticking out the bottom with a thick 6 inch aux chord going from that to the receiver strapped to the side
@MusicTechnologist Жыл бұрын
For sure! It’s one of the cables I had laying around that came with this mic ➡️ amzn.to/3vLUyt0 I had to shave some plastic off around the tip to get it to fit just right, and I zip tied it to the headphones. Hope that helps!

What cable is that connecting the headphones to the receiver?

Looks like the myvolts candycord pocket operator cable but with black ends instead of white. Not sure how this could possibly fit into the aux port on audio technica athm50x

I just bought an adapter for the m50x so any aux can connect but i would still really like to know where you found that aux cable! Please

Great video! That is exactly what i was looking for for so long I already thought about buying cheap wireless headset with 2.4g low latency dongle and dissassemble it's guts to make it (maybe cloud core wireless) But the problem would be a usb interface that i will have to plug into pc or something, which is not as convenient as plugging 3.5mm instead So yeah, thanks a lot!

I know this is an old video, but what cups did you put on those m50s?

Great video, please can you tell me where i can get a yellow cable like your one? also if I only had the receiver, could I connect my source, in this case my metal detector to the receiver and plug a regular pair of headphones into the receiver to achieve no latency? thanks

Question: I bought the AIAIAI's, and the clamp force was so high that it was an instant "NO" for me. They went back. I saw this, and was very interested. However, how is the sound quality? Is the sound quality equal to that of the AIAIAI? (Assuming you're using an equivalent headphone)?
@Cluless0210 күн бұрын
They sound pretty harsh or so I've heard. What are they ~16ms? That's not ultra low for studio monitoring. What about the HEAVY pro studio phones at 2.3ms latency? Perhaps I've gotten the figures off, please let me know. What is a detectable latency for pro studio monitoring?

Checkhov's gun: If you see a gun in a scene in a movie, you'd better use it as a plot device. The same way as if you place the words "LOW LATENCY" in the title of your video, you should probably address that at some point in the video.

I don't understand why there is nothing with this usecase in mind, could even charge like $100 for it if it's more user friendly, or if it's truly lossless and sub 20ms I wouldn't even mind $150 honestly

Also the AIAIAI TMA2 sounds pretty mid. I own a pair and just end up using my wired headphones cause of the poor sound quality.
