As someone who has dealt with them all my life, had to be torture with the lights, noise of the leaf blower, wind in his face, etc. Some have pointed out that he didn't appear to be enjoying the experience, as were the others. Austin sang the lead on this for the Sing Off. I suspect they're trying to get people used to hearing Rob's voice instead of Austins. Of course it sounds like instruments, this is Home Free, they ALWAYS sound like there are instruments........they're that good. Rascal Flatts also recorded this song.
@nancyholter56469 ай бұрын
Rob has been singing lead on this since at least 2018, it was on the Timeless album and the Timless tour.
@Indigo_moon9 ай бұрын
I don't think they are getting people used to Rob's voice. We all know what he sounds like. It's because Rob got jipped on The Sing Off because they wouldn't let him sing. They only wanted Austin & Tim to sing lead. They put their foot down just to get them to let Rob sing Colder Weather. So they are doing it the way they would have done it if they didn't have those restrictions.
@Indigo_moon9 ай бұрын
I disagree. Everyone knows what Rob sounds like and he's been singing lead in this song on tour for years. The reason why he didn't sing lead on The Sing Off is because the producers only wanted Austin & Tim to sing lead, for any of the songs. They had to put their foot down just to get them to let Rob sing Colder Weather on the show.

It was all them, maybe the sound effects were layered, but no instruments. I love how Adam does the shaker sound in the background, he did it also in an old video of theirs which was more basic when they did the song Wake Me Up (Avicii cover). It's pretty strong and flawless too.

Chance & Austin both do electric guitar sounds. No instruments on this one. I'm pretty sure they've only done one song, which was "Skull & Bones", with instruments. I would consider that as more like a side project or a special circumstance. And I heard they used instruments because Ubisoft requested it, but I can't say if that's actually true or not. They have had guests that play instruments like Jeffrey East and others. But they can't claim they are an "all vocal band" without it being true. Loved Rob's reaction when he did the "woooo" at the end. Thanks again for the video!

Great reaction! I am most familiar with Tom Cochrane's version of this song than Rascal Flatts. The guys did a great cover of this song on the "Sing Off". They later released a studio version of this when Chance was with them showing them touring & the behind the scenes at shows. And now they have just released this 3rd version of this song. The guys all sounded great as usual & enjoy their sense of humor. Love Tim's low bass growl. And Adam Rupp once again stole the show with all his cool sounds. He really has an unreal range.

Again,Jimmy's creativity comes through with the leafblower effect. It was all done before a green screen. Tom Cochrane is the first from the '80s or '90s. Rascal Flatts did it in the 2000s. Home Free did it better (winky winky). (PS Adam Rupp's locks are amazing in this). There are no instruments as far as we enamored Home Fries know. Usually they show the instruments they are using IF they are using them, but I questioned it at first, as well. HOWEVER, Austin is really good at the high guitar sounds, and Chance and Rob do some of the middle guitar sounds at times, too, so that's what I think is happening here. I've seen it a few times and each time I see something new. But my attention still remained on the singing and that inhumanly good beatboxing. You could say I was laughing while swinging. Because it sounded amazing again. It has become much better than the performance of the Sing Off. But what I like so much is that even if you don't see the video, what you hear is still great. With many groups the song is nice and good when you watch the video, but without a video it is a lot less and I had enough after listening to it once. I don't have that at all with Home Free.
