Both muskrats and beavers are quite selectively adapted to their habitat as their habitat (Plant Associations) are broadly crucial Families of Native Flora vegetative propagation as well as their diet. Cattails, Sedges, Rushes, Equisetums, and other nutrient fixers, as in gross primary production relates to the yearly nature of it's Seasons, these two Keystone Species of freshwater habitats definitively have selected niches that do compliment each other well, (mutualistic), may need communal nests to survive winter nights, and other items I have observed. Spring's productivity is food stuffs, nesting materials, bulbs, slowing water flow, creating canal, creating deeper near shore depths, their activities also benefit fish for spawning beds using their remains from underwater food caches, fallen trees, channel diversity, as they like deeper water for escape routes.

Raccoons??? They hunt muskrats? I’ve always thought of Raccoon as more of scavengers or only hunts animals that are easier prey, such as chickens.
@OutdoorExperiences2 жыл бұрын
True they are, but if your muskrats dispatched in a trap or caught in one they will help themselves
