Actually he did a great job in understanding the scripture , I am an arabic speaker and I can confirm that the translation of the holy books is what triggers all the misunderstanding , arabic is so refined and precise. I was really impressed by his interpretation as well , and the big big point is he pointed out the difference between the cultural habits of the middle east that are misinterpreted as the religion being manifested that's wrong. By no means am I just blindly defending the religion , but this guy should thank his step father for teaching him proper arabic and to think for himself.

@D-REN I'm glad you asked , it's not that Islam views the Bible as misinterpreted it's that according to the religious beliefs there was human interference with the content of the previous holy books , so it was no longer the word of God but it became man made. I see what your point is , but for the Quoran there aren't any other versions of it in the language that has been the mother tongue of the religion Arabic , we all have the same book the words the same pauses the same verses etc. The problem like you said is misinterpretations , and the translations to other languages. If you have any time on your hand I encourage you to listen to any video made by lezley hazelton. I really wish you'd give her a listen.

So just to set some things straight , muslim as you said submitter but that's not the end of it , where is the context I encourage everyone to be proactive with learning and getting information , so a muslim in it's religious context means you submitted and delivered your self to God , the english translation doesn't do it justice , and i'm honest to God not trying to embellish anything here but languages have different tones they don't translate exactly and well . Spreading Information is beneficial , but please triple check before you post something. I speak 5 languages fluently so I'm aware of how the word submitter sounds . When the guest said peaceful , the word is derived from it and he wasn't lying , Musalim is a peaceful person , muslim is " submitter to the will of God". The other thing I saw and I'd like to address is the "lying" I need to see the word in Arabic to translate it properly , but there is nowhere absolutely no where , where it is mandated or even mentioned that you should lie on jews and christians , I was baffled when I saw this comment , and by the way the at he did a great job distinguishing between the "infidels" and "christians" and "jews" because again in Arabic it is referred to christians as the supporters of christ , and jews as the righteous ones. The question of whether or not it is said that muslims should hate jews , I'd love to talk further more about this but I'm sorry if I bored you with my long text , I just wanted to encourage you guys and point out that this is a language and translation barrier. Islam might not be the religion for you , just like christianity or judaism but there must be a respect , especially if you don't know the history the language or the context. You might not like reading when you're father makes you read or exercising when he makes you exercise but when you are older and you're not fat and you have a head full of knowledge that you know how to put to good use you will have your father to thank for that. My daughter was so happy today when she passed her test and reached Green Belt in TKD. When she first started she didn't want to go. I being her father knew what she did not know about the benefits of going so I made the decision out of love. I didn't make the decision that would make her happy in that moment in the past. I made the decision that would benefit her for years to come.

Speaker Steve The Islamic Religion (like the other Abrahamic religions) has many different ‘sects’ or groups who have different interpretations of the texts. Over the centuries some sects have grown a long way apart on the details of what they believe & how they practice. I'm muslim and I have friends from all faiths. One of my best friends is a Bible teacher. His morals and family values are exactly the same as mine. I used to say that he was Muslim, because we shared so many views. I've been to mosques all over the world on 5 continents and never heard one muslim advocate any violence or aggression toward any person or group. Ive always heard Muslims advocate tolerance and kindness. My father was an Imam. He was also professor and dean of education at a university in Virginia and the chairman for the university's Center for religious freedom. He always preached for unity among ppl. Me, personally, im the only guy on my street that opens my door and invites in Jehova witnesses when they come over every Saturday. It was a year before they even realized I was Muslim. So naturally, I found myself confused at how the media portrayed the religion following 911. I've concluded that it was to maintain support for the oil wars of the Middle East. I mean if you think a billion ppl want to kill you, you won't lose any sleep if your military is bombing their women and children. I encourage those of you that have negative views of Islam, to go out and have a conversation with a Muslim. Im sure you will find that you have more in common than you think. Peace be with you all.
