We don't have any problem with people cover their face or walk half naked but people who walk half naked doesn't go around telling people it's their religious obligation. In Quran Allah talk about women wear modest and to cover their chest. In one aya God has ordered only a particular women to cover their face so no one could recognize them and that order was only for the Prophet Prophet waives just like an other order specially for them was that they couldn't get married again once they were widowed. But other Muslim widows could get married. Please don't confuse the religion. If you wear it just don't go around saying Islam commanded it or you getting any rewards from Allah for covering your face. Sadly terrorists are doing the same thing. And we call them Islamic terrorists. Islam has nothing to do with both of these actions just like a Christian woman might go to walk half naked. But should we assume it's the teaching of christianity? It just plan wrong to associate your actions with a religion that has not made it obligation on you yet you screaming out of your lungs saying it's what my religion teaches me and many other none muslims left confused.

@Tintin is not dead I don't think people should wear to please other people... In Islam one should dress modestly... That's not something to advertise... And those who think like that... We can't do anything... There'll be all kinds of people... And people shouldn't judge others. Allah says don't judge others... For you do not know what's in their hearts. All are equal... Only thing that makes you superior is your good deeds. And only Almighty can judge you for he knows what's in the heart... He is all knowing indeed. So people should be less pessimistic I believe. And believe me they are not trying to look in a certain way. They represent equality, less importance of external beauty, modesty and Humbleness... They are not showing off... They are covering it up. Also if you are doing something to pretend or show then it looses it's value as per islam. It looses it's meaning. And we know that. Peace brother ❤

If you r saying that people use the veil to do macilious activities then the veiled women have nothing to do with it.if a girl dresses as an nun sister and does theft that does not mean that all the nun sisters must not dress the same way they were before the theft. . If people in the west feel the niqab/hijab is oppressed then so is the women who's not wearing one as she's a slave of the society and its "beauty standards", is forced to present herself in a particular way that is deemed acceptable any other way and she will be criticised.

Imagine CCTV as useless in identifying a thief in a shopping mall, an atm scammer, or even worse a weapon concealed underneath. The public goes on with its mundane routine not noticing anything out of the ordinary with people wearing burqa. People in the queue in an atm wouldn't think a burqa-clad person is already stealing in the atm machine and wouldn't alert the cops until it's too late. An innocent person wearing a burqa is mistaken for a criminal because the perpetrator is also wearing a burqa and successfully blended in the crowd. And please don't compare it with nuns. @harrietharlow99292 жыл бұрын
@@delnarose4691 I didn't go into this in my comment above, but Christianity has a long history of veiling for women. In Byzantine times, some women wore a veil that covered their head completely--it was thin enough to be able to see but still largely conceal the face. Today, there are still groups like the Russian Old Believers who still wear a cap and scarf that cover the hair completely, especially in church. Up until the early 1500s, veiling in the West included a wimple and veil. Then gradually, more and more hair began to be shown, starting in France with the French hood. Still, even in my childhood (1950s and 1960s) women wore hats to church, and until my teens, many women would not go out without a hat and gloves. I remember my mu going up for communion and she always wore a hat and gloves. She would remove only one glove to receive Communion in her hand (we were Episcopalians). Even I wore a nice dress, hat and gloves to church. I believe that in veiling completely, I am returning to the original custom.

1:25 - it’s true. It actually makes people more curious and ask questions about Islam. I just past my 20’s. I remember when I was 17 and started practicing Islam ☪️ right before the winter breaks. When I arrived back to school after the winter breaks, I had a kufi on, thobe and a thick black beard waiting to grow. Everyone started questioning as to what happened cuz right before that, I was into rap battles behind the school when the bell rang. When my mom would ask me wha to wanted to do, I said paramedic and Hollywood. I was partying, had a girlfriend, etc. The only 5 things I never did was, smoke, drink, drugs (or even sell them), or take immoral shortcuts for money But the change was almost overnight, after that one girl left me. Turned out, after she left me, she left Islam ☪️ too. Subhanallah ALLAH saved me and gave me something far better. When people look at me, both Muslim and non Muslim, I don’t think they’re able to tell that I’m born and raised in Canada 🇨🇦 cuz now I look like I just arrived from the deserts of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦. But alhamdulillah it’s like a uniform. People take me seriously. And it’s easier to spread Islam ☪️ with the thobe on, beard on my face and kufi on my head. It helps me stay in my place too. By ALLAH it helps me with righteousness. Alhamdulillah I feel like ALLAH made it much easier for me to revert/convert people into Islam ☪️ after I started adapting to the sunnah of the Prophet (saw) in terms of putter appearance. See cuz, people can’t always get to see us Muslims sitting down and drinking water, eating with the 3 fingers after washing our hands, cutting our nails every Friday. Even, if they see us walking to the masjid, they don’t actually see us praying. So what is da’wah to them?? Our actions: The way we: - walk - talk - do business - and yes that includes how we dress So if you’re dressed like the same damn #Zionists you’re against, in a 3 piece suit, don’t ask why you don’t see the help of ALLAH , descend when you try to revert/convert people and the help of ALLAH , in Palestine 🇵🇸 and in Yemen 🇾🇪 etc La ilaaha illallah is on the inside Muhammad ul Rasulullah is on the outside

I got covid in December, cold in January, and now April I'm sick again (It might be Covid 19 cuz I was exposed to a it week ago). I heard this woman can avoid getting sick by just dressing modestly. They wear gloves too, and I am convinced that with the right measures I can be safe this way too. Even though I have never been awful to Muslim women, I never saw one dress this way in places I am at like at college. I don't know how I will be viewed and what challenges I will have. At the end, I don't care about mean comments, I care if I'm going to be treated respectfully by colleges and companies.

While i respect the choices these women make in whether to wear a veil or not, the way youre going about it seems as though you view women as your possession. Theyre not jewelries or wealth like youre insinuating. Theyre human beings that has the same human characteristics as you. Just as you want them to cover up so other men wont look at them, im sure they wouldnt want other women to look at their man either. The difference is the culture favored men in the past so it seems like a norm for women to submit to such things in the present. But in actually, if you want to be fair about it, than muslim men should cover up too.

I’m sorry but the face covering in public is way too far. I understand the hair covering. But face covering will make it impossible to identify the person and to have proper social interactions with. It can also be safety concerns. It’s fine if Nuns, Muslims, Sikhs do head covering. But I draw the line at face coverings. Only having your eyes exposed isn’t normal. Also islam doesn’t require face covering. The Quran talks about head covering and body covering being necessary for modesty.

The disease in your heart is either that you want to see Muslim women half-naked like the majority of your Christian women or because of your hatred towards Islam. Why do you want to dictate what women should or should not wear? Doesn't this go against your very own liberal views? Or if it only for when it suits you? By the way, even Mother Mary (may Allah be pleased with her) wore the hijab. And the Bible even makes it obligatory. Read the beginning of 1 Corinthians 11.

I'll admit when I first saw women wearing the niqab, I wondered how they would recognise each other in the street if they knew each other and whether they'd pass by each other without noticing. In our culture women don't cover so when we see each other walking in the street or at the shops, it's an instant recognition. But I do see after much experience in life that you indeed can recognise someone from their heart alone. And you don't need a visual cue, I had a student in English class who covered fully and any time I was in a street or she was on a tram I got on, I knew it was her, sometimes before she saw me. It was a heart connection. Same as when I went to America to visit Facebook friends that I had yet to meet, I didn't always know what they looked like, I knew their pets and their homes lol but people are private online with their faces, so I relied on the heart connection to pick them out of a crowd at a train station or airport.

In the late 6th century, when our Prophet Muhammed(peace be upon him) taught the world "the best of you are those who are best to their women", women were treated as filth, objects of pleasure. The dark age as we know the period now, men regarded women inferior creation, they were ashamed of talking good about their women in public. They killed and buried their daughters ; and the prophet taught us whoever has three daughters and raise them properly and get them educated and marry them off to good men, they inherit paradise. Islam was far ahead of its time, it was feministic. Women were given property rights, voting rights... And now you say Islam oppress us? By looking into our clothes? If we are most comfortable in our clothing, why would you want us to abandon it? Hijab that you often times associate with women in reality is applicable to men too. Modesty in behaviour(interactions with the opposite sex) along with clothes constitute hijab.

As a non Muslim, I think this is the best reason to wear the hijab. I’ve heard Muslim women say that they wear hijab as a favour to men to keep them from being “tempted”, and I always thought that was a terrible reason to wear it. I like this reason better, where hijab is more of a rejection of beauty standards. Unfortunately some Muslims have ruined the hijab by holding women to a standard on how they should wear it, which defeats its purpose

Not just women, men have rules to abide with too. The first time I saw my wife wearing a hijab and niqab it pleases me a lot because she decides it’s good for her and I don’t have to put up with this notion of forcing our women to wear hijab.

The face veil is the ultimate way for a woman to preserve her beauty for her family, especially her husband. It is a way of people not to get distracted by a woman's beauty and focus on her personality only. The beauty of her character. It is very dignified and respectful. The prophet Mohammed's wife used face veil. Think about it, why should anyone else have lustful thoughts about your wife. How she looks is none of any man's business. That said, I personally would not require my wife to face veil. Im muslim myself. I dont even enforce the head scarf on my wife but recently she choose to wear it on her own. What im strict with is her not showing cleavage on her breasts, not showing skin above the knees, and not wearing super tight clothes

Islamic apologists argue that the veil is liberating however, however Muslim men see it differently. When the French government denied citizenship to a Moroccan man who forced his French wife to wear a head-to-toe veil, the man, who is a member of a hard-line Islamic missionary group called the Tabligh, said: My wife will never be able to go out without the full veil; I don’t believe in gender equality; women have inferior status; I will not respect the principles of the secular society. Many women In Iran see taking off the veil as a form of liberation and are severely punished if they do. See the web page Islam and the Veil thoughts-everything.com/jihadpages/islamandveil.htm

Even Bible promotes hijab in Mark (5:28) for men, Timothy (2:9-10) for women, Corinthians (11:6) for covering head or shave head. Christian nuns wear hijab, therefore, no men look them with lust. In holy Quran, men are first ordered to wear hijab and in the next verse women are ordered. But, question arises: What is hijab? There are six criteria for observing hijab according to Quran and Sunnah. 1. Extent: For men, the extent of hijab is from navel to knee. Whereas, for women, the extent of hijab is over complete body except face and hands upto wrist. If they wish to, they can cover these body parts too. 2. The cloth worn should be loose and should not reveal the figure. 3. The cloth worn should not be transparent such that one can see through them. 4. The cloth worn should not be so glamorous as to attract the opposite sex. 5. The cloth worn should not resemble that of the opposite sex. 6. The cloth worn should not resemble that of the unbelievers.

Okay.... Women are taught that if they don't wear hijab God will send them into hell. Not speaking for all but a lot of them themselves told this to me . Isnt it indirectly forcing them with plain fear

What nobody shows CORRECT. Islam is a culture of FEAR.
@vijay205 жыл бұрын
YES! THIS. This should be the problem within vocal muslims - that your fellow men and women are enforcing their own ideologies unto their children and others, oftentimes incorrectly. It is the element of fear, fear of repercussions, fear of being chastised, ostracised etc, that should be spoken out against. Most people do not dislike the veil - they dislike the fact that these misinterpretations amongst veiled women is not being addressed sufficiently.

Just don't tell anything if u don't have that knowledge. I will give an example to u - If u had two chocolates one wrapped and other unwrapped and they fall on ground which one will u eat - of course- the one which was wrapped and covered and didn't get dirty. Same applies here so that evil 👀 eyes cannot see us. Why so many rape cases happen coz the clothes women wear now takes the attention of all and who knows who is good and bad. Its better to be in a safer zone. We are safe , surely more than others. And the fear u r talking about I am proud of it coz it's our Imaan ,our faith, our trust in one and only creater. I don't want to give u a lecture coz still u will not find it right but brother plz see the fact and don't be so negative about other religions

Where is the logic? If she truly felt it was oppressive she wouldn’t be a Muslim and she wouldn’t be wearing it. It’s that simple.

@@moa7320 Yeah, she said that. You would say that too if saying anything else could mean having your throat slit by your Dad while held down by your Mom. And as I said, herself, she might actually dress voluntarily like it's the 7th, not the 21st, century. What I am saying is that by doing so, she helps normalize this pre-medieval practice, making it easier for the Muslim male patriarchs to keep their womenfolk "in their place".

it's not oppressive to the woman - it's oppressing to those around her. It's a desperately pharasaical item of clothing. It's a way to show superciliousness of faith, but also to alienate those around. There's never been a right of public privacy - any person with their face covered is alienated and isolating but also an act of violence, of threat, of impunity from their actions. It's a great way to cover a black eye. but really - it's not 'a right' - don't ban it, but they can STFU

Express her identity? That burka hardly looks individualistic enough to be called expressive of an individual's identity. How can we even be sure she is who she says she is? The answer is we can't. We require the visibility of the face as an aspect of modern security. That's why I don't get to walk into places like banks with a ski mask on.

I dont see a person, I see an object like a table or a chair with eyes. The veil basically steals their identity... its simple, *I CANT SEE YOUR FACE - I DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE* If there were for example even 5 women, or men, all wearing the burkah, I could not figure out which one is Hebah... why? because there is no way to identify her or distinguish which one she is.

Basically, what this woman wants is privacy. Obscuring her face gives her a sense of privacy when she is in public. The only problem here is the possibility that criminals could use this for bad ends. But she personally is not "oppressed" by this choice.

yes Denise. You are on point. As a veiling Muslim woman who covers her face, I agree with the same concerns you have!
@DeniseNoeCowDanceLady2 ай бұрын
@@merekhayaalsay These are not "my concerns." I was pointing out valid reasons behind a choice this woman, you, and other Muslim women have made. It is a desire for a sense of privacy while in public. It is also a desire to not be treated as a sex object for the male gaze while in public. Different individuals have different concerns -- and are entitled to them.
