I am muslim. Last year I was just like other orthodox muslims. But out of somewhere i saw a video of vfc and then youtube recommendation guided me to a david ramms video (another vegan youtuber) then i saw some videos of joey. I was flabbergasted. I convinced family to boycott meat and milk and everything. We didnt slaughter any goat on eid. Now I am vegan and vegan forever. I somehow convinced one of my friend to be vegan however his family is not vegan. But whatever Me and my family are vegan .

He’s wrong, I’m from Pakistan too. Sure, our cuisine is heavily meat based, but there’s still many vegetable/lentil/chickpea based dishes, you can make many of our dishes without meat or dairy, we know many plant based Indian dishes & eat them regularly as well. The poorest people in the country eat mostly plant based because it’s cheaper, meat is historically a luxury for our people. Culture is not an excuse for cruelty, Pakistanis know this & condemn honor killing or terrorism or bigotry done in the name of culture. & yes there is still a growing vegan community even among Pakistanis & Muslims

India is not a Vegan or even Vegetarian country as the number of meat eaters in India is too high in 2022... 80% of Indians eat meat according to a recent survey. So, Indians are literally committing a suicide by thinking it's modern to eat meat of tortured slaughtered animals. For all the faith, spirituality, "ahimsa", etc. Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, etc. consume a ton of meat alongside Muslims, Christians and Jews. So, as humans, we're all technically in a hell full of sinners already. At first, religions dictated what we eat, etc. But with freedom of speech, thought and expression, empathy is born and then we progress when majority of the people become empaths and Vegans. 100% sure India will never be a complete Vegan or even a Vegetarian country. 200% sure Pakistan or any Islamic country can never be Vegan ever, as it is against Islam to go Vegan as the religion demands strict animal sacrifice on Eid, even-though the story of sacrifice is more connected to Christianity and Judaism. If only not for this slaughter festival, Islam would've been rejoiced by now. This one forceful event to make Muslims eat meat is quite unfortunate. At least Christians and Jews don't torture and slaughter animals as much. I can say exact same thing with Hindus who consume chicken, fish, lamb, meat, milk, etc. as they never understand the pain and suffering of animals and birds. Same with Buddhists who claim that Buddha was a meat eater and so they too have the rights to eat meat. What happened to "Ahimsa"? I don't know... If religions don't reform with human progress, then they are best not to be followed. I will not say atheists are open-minded. But at the least, they are rational thinkers. Time and again, those who consumed animal meat became criminals and terrorists. History has taught us enough and yet we just never cared. Only with proper and good education and complex logical thinking abilities can we awaken the true spiritual side of humans which is Veganism. VEGANISM should be registered as a RELIGION.

Thank you so much for doing what you do. I’ve been vegan for the animals for 17 years now. It’s not often that you come across someone like this who is so open and receptive. He is truly using a critical mind and reconsidering the misconceptions that he was taught to believe. It’s difficult as vegans to convey our message. It’s such a huge ethical conundrum in the world-that nearly the entire planet is indoctrinated to support animal abuse and exploitation. Vegans are only 1% of the population, trying to open the eyes of the other 99% of the population! Without “being pushy,” without “forcing beliefs,” without “being militant.” It’s tough. I think we vegans wish that more interactions were like this one. That they can not be defensive, connect the dots, and figure out a way to make changes. I’m learning everyday how to refine my tact and make lasting changes for the sake of the animals. Thank you for sharing this. 💜

Well as Muslims everything is contextual. Halal came about in a time when animals were tortured and mutilated before slaughter and this was the best manner to slaughter an animal, also in those time there was not a wide array of plant foods available to people so they could not choose vegan only. But in todays times where climate change is a big crisis and most plant foods bring fed to animals and the existence of factory farming even in the Halal industry yes I agree this meat is not Halal and they just put thr label on. Majority Muslims don't investigate and are conned. I am on a mission to educate Muslims about all of thr animal industries and Halal meat so that hopefully the existence of so called "halal"meat is reduced.. essentially promoting vegan foods to Muslims for the sake of religion as Muslims are unaware about these industries and the fact that they against values like mercy and compassion. I am also planning to do this with revert Muslims who are learning. When you are born Muslim you just belive the Halal label. But since Revert Muslims are on the journey of learning this is what I aim to teach them about and hopefully they will be Muslims who educate the muslim community around them as well.

It would be good if muslim vegans would show halal slaughter house footage to Muslims but I have seen a lot on KZbin anyway. Its just the fact that most people don't think of the affects of their purchases, which is not entirely their fault as I once didn't know...all we can do is open more eyes. Animal agriculture even the Halal industry has become a business and this is wrong.

@@animalheart398 It may even be more challenging to convince a Muslim to go vegan since they have their religion's stamp of approval on the animal products they eat. That halal label acts as an extra layer of "this is okay" in people's minds, since their religion says so, so it could be a barrier. Tesco says the only difference between the halal meat it sells and the other meat is that the animal was blessed as they were killed. So "halal" essentially just becomes marketing, and it's definitely wrong. I agree with you. Killing an animal is already bad enough, evil really. But to have a religion's seal of approval on it, I would say that makes it even more insidious.

This conversation was so centred on what’s halal and haram. Animals’ lives are worth so much more than those labels. I’d never tell Muslims that ‘vegetables and fruit are halal’ because while it may make sense to Westerns, it just doesn’t make sense to Muslims. Halal and haram labels are ONLY used on beef and chicken. If you say to them ‘it’s halal to be vegan’ the best thing they would do is look for more accredited halal slaughterhouses. Because when you make a connection between Halal and Vegan, they would always tend to the side their of religion. They either will just continue eating what they’re used to and say they’re not responsible for the faults of slaughterhouses if they don’t kill in a halal way. Or look for more trustworthy Halal slaughterhouses to buy from. That’s a lot much easier for them than to be vegan. People are free to believe in whatever religion they want to believe in, but I’d never sugarcoat things to make people feel good about their religion when it clearly DEMANDS NOT ALLOWS the killing of animals.

Halal mandates that animals are not slaughtered in front of each other and that the animal does not see the knife. No one can ever ensure that the animals didn’t see each other being slaughtered and didn’t see the knife. And honestly what’s the point of the animal not seeing the knife but feeling it cut his throat?? That’s why most if not all Muslims go by benefit of doubt when eating meat. That’s why it’s better have a unified message about animals exclusively when talking to people of all races and religions.

If you kill (simply) for pleasure, it's haram. In this (western) world eating meat is choice, not a necessity. Why did you say "Muslim"? Being muslim isnt about being perfect at every step, its about putting the effort in. And this guy seems to want to explore this further, and learn more about veganism. If the only way a person could be Muslim is for them to follow Islam perfectly, then there wouldnt be any. And im saying all this as a Non-Muslim person who just knows some basic stuff

You can also be vegan in Pakistan. My husband is from Afghanistan and he is also vegan. They own large fields and grow plants on them (really really delicious, some of tgem exotic compared to Europe)

This was a good chat but you should talk to a person of knowledge in Islam or like a public person who does dawah, a seasoned person in these video talks type things. Sure you’ll still disagree but it’ll be an even better vid. I suggest going to speakers corner and talking to certain people. People like Mohammed Hijab or Abbas and Dr Imran from EFDawah or Mohammed from Muslim Lantern. The discussion will be so fruitful for both parties but also these guys have millions of views so it’ll be good outreach for the vegan community.

Well I'm Muslims and on a mission to educate other Muslims about theses industries and the Halal industry. I don't believe any of these industries are truly Halal. I am also planning to do this with Revert Muslims who are learning, hopefully before they fall into the lie of believing the Halal label. Some religions say they make a sacrifice & kill animals for food. Surly it would be a greater sacrifice to sacrifice your own needs & let the animals live.
