Jazak Allahu Khayr Mufti Menk. May Allah grant you Jannat-ul-Firdaus. Brief summary of the episode. Allah mentions in the Quran, the Duas that the Prophets used to call out to Him. Hadith Qudsi (or Sacred Hadith) is a sub-category of hadith which are sayings of prophet Muhammad (SAW). Hadith Qudsi : words of Allah(SWT), repeated by prophet Muhammad (SAW). Hadith Qudsi is expressed in Muhammad (SAW)'s words. Quran is the direct words of Allah(SWT). Surah Fatiha- the most important Surah. Abu Hurairah (R.A) reported: I heard Rasoolullahi sallalahu alaihi wasallam narrating a Hadith Qudsi in which Allah(SWT) has said, "I have divided Surah Fatihah into two halves between Me and My slave, and my slave will receive what he asks. So, when His slave says Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Aalameen (Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the universe), Allah(SWT) says "My slave has praised Me!". And when His slave says Arrahmanirraheem (The Compassionate, the Merciful), Allah(SWT) says "My slave has extolled Me!" And when His slave says Maliki Yaumiddeen (Master of the Day of Judgement), Allah(SWT) says "My slave has glorified Me! (or) entrusted Me!" And when His slave says Iyyaka Na'budu was iyyaka nasta'een (You alone do we worship and You alone do we seek for help), Allah(SWT) says "This is between Me and My slave, so whatever he asks, it will be granted."

I just took Shahada two weeks ago. As a new Muslim I feel a bit like a fish out of water as I do not have the support of my family. I'm glad this video popped up on my suggestions. Are there any tips you can give me for understanding the Qur'an and putting what I learn into practice while living with people who don't approve of my choice to embrace Islam? I hope you see this comment as I really do want a good relationship with Allah. It will greatly improve my life.

Hiya Ruthlyn, I'd like to firstly say May Allah the Most Kind & Most Merciful grant you success in this world & Paradise for your conversion to Islam. You have been blessed. Being a new Muslim feels absolutely wonderful, you start on a new journey. However, there comes difficulties and tests. The test you have is of 2 as you've stated, 1 being you do not have the support of your family, 2nd being you feel that your tender & delicate. You ask for tips to understand the Quran: You could firstly purchase a Quran with translation, usually the thick large ones. They have all the commentary on the Quran and even explain each Chapter in detail. You could also go to your local mosque and talk to your new sisters about any Quranic sessions they have, whereby they sit down togethor and they go through the beautiful Quran. Secondly, you became Muslim 2 weeks ago. You are under no obligation to whiz through the entire teachings of Islam, it's history, the Prophet, the Quran etc. Islam is a lifetime journey, I've been a Muslim 19 years and to this day I'm still learning magnificent things. This isn't a degree, it's a journey and you'll learn new things along the way. Put into practice whatever little you learn (i.e. in Islam we MUST treat our neighbours with kindness and respect, whether they are Muslim or not.) Finally, you have family members that are non Muslim. Be loving to them, do not cut ties with them, even if they do not like your new religion. May Allah bless you and please, have patience, you will see the fruits of your labor!

If so they can be of great assistance, they will have someone who can guide you, and provide you further information about Islam, Qur'an and it's nice for you to have a buddy. :) . Thank you, I think there is a mosque nearby. I don't really know anything about mosque etiquette but I'll go and see. Inshallah I will get the support I need.

Ruthlyn Aaron Etiquettes of the mosque is ver simple and easy, similar to a library somehow. Just be mindful of others who are praying, do not yell to talk to someone who isn’t near, be hygienic, smile and be open (In mosques people from different backgrounds to you all of a sudden become your beloved sister who talks to you like your family), also just be relaxed, there’s no pressure whatsoever. It’s the easiest and most comforting place, believe me, even more so than our own homes.

I was born muslim and recently started learning the Quran through online course alhudaus.com.( got live class and recording for missed class) I think that the most beneficial course I've take.. Because they teach me word to word translation of the Quran.

Because Ramadan is not the one that gives such that it can be called generous (Kareem), rather it is only Allah the Exalted that put virtue in it and made it a virtuous month and made the time period for performing (the fasting) a pillar from Islam.
