Atheist tried to win an argument with saying airplane pop out of nothing... And he said common sense BS and philosophy ia weak. So much for so called advanced in critical thinking.
@ChrisBrown220827 ай бұрын
I think it's crucial when thinking critically not to overly rely on common sense. Our brains evolved for survival and while this generally means they are logical in common place situations, there is no guarantee they will be reliable in complex situations that weren't crucial for the survival of our ancestors. An example of common sense letting us down is viewing solid objects as completely full. However, the reality is that they are composed of atoms which have a very small and dense nucleus at their centre but are otherwise almost entirely empty space (in which tiny electrons have a probability distribution in a wave-like manner).
@reza_3q7 ай бұрын
@@ChrisBrown22082 so you agree that not to overly rely on common sense = common sense is BS?
@reza_3q7 ай бұрын
@@ChrisBrown22082 your example is not common sense btw. It simply an observation.
@ChrisBrown220827 ай бұрын
@@reza_3q No, my perspective was more nuanced than that. If our common sense was completely unreliable, it's unlikely humanity would have survived. But in situations, such as considering the philosophy of the supernatural, that aren't commonplace there is no guarantee that it will be reliable. I gave an example of a conclusion that seems obvious under initial inspection but following scientific inquiry, turns out to be utterly incorrect.
@iznij32847 ай бұрын
@@ChrisBrown22082 the example you gave has nothing to do with common sense but has to do with reliability of perception which sciences utilize "our senses are reliable" is a assumption, be it when you view a solid or you view arrangement of atom. At the end of the day you cannot be certain whether the solid is solid or that atoms has dense nucleus with hallow space. Because both are relying on perception which can never be objectively demonstrated to be 100% certain. Sciences only provide approximations not certainties.

@ChrisBrown220827 ай бұрын
The problem with philosophy is not that sophisticated arguments cannot be composed using its methodologies and not that those arguments cannot inform our thinking processes, it's that the arguments are typically built on assumptions that cannot be verified to be true and hence its conclusions cannot generally be relied upon. The scientific method overcomes these limitations by actively verifying its conclusions through experimentation to differentiate between rival hypotheses. Many a PhD has been awarded for work that ultimately was proven to be unsubstantiated.

When he stumbles on an answer, he says, “I don’t know.” This is a smooth, unconvincing, and illogical escape that proves the atheist’s ignorance because he is a disbeliever in God and does not know that he lacks the faith that God has made a test for humanity in this worldly life.Because behind it is inevitable death that all people believe in.Let it be known to everyone, especially atheists, that logic exists only in Islam and nothing else... To clarify, guidance is from Allah swt. What I mean by ‘useless’ is that they have to first admit the truth to themselves before anyone through Allah swt can reach or help them. Their arrogance is beyond any limits, especially for a ‘being’ that knows that he will die one day. Their childish stubbornness, stomping their feet, blinds them. @r00kiepilot7 ай бұрын
The thing he didn't understand is that it is a logical contradiction same as a square triangle as Mansour was trying to explain to him. Because absolute nothing is the absence of everything including time, it is not possible to say absolute nothing 'gave rise' to something, because both things would have to be eternal, time would only come 'later' so to speak. So to say absolute nothing 'gave rise' to something is essentially to say absolute nothing and something co-exist, which is of course a logical contradiction the same as a square triangle or a married bachelor.

could someone drop a drinking glass on the sidewalk and expect that it would hit the ground and on impact it would not shatter, but it would divide up into little small drinking glasses, with iced tea in them? Of course not. if a tornado came through a junkyard and tore through the old cars; would it leave behind a nice new Mercedes with the engine running and no parts left around? Naturally not. Which is more similar to your tornado story, lots of dust being formed into a human, or billions of years of evolution resulting in humans and many other species? You just need to say that the tornado was controlled by god, and the story is almost identical to the creation story of humans. "After considering all these things , how could we look to the universe above us through a telescope or observe the molecules in a microscope and then think that all of this came about as a result of a "big bang" or some "accident?"" -user No one who studied any of the relevant fields thinks that. It's always just creationists who think if god didn't do it, it's just an accident.
