What works did you compare? He was very influential, his books are referenced since 900 CE. Paper was in use in central asia and middle east since 600 CE. Go to school and get some good education.

This is not true. Louis-Antoine Bourrienne, Napoléon's secretary, spends several pages in his memoirs (1830) denying Napoléon's islamic flirtations. For him, Napoléon only considered Islam for political reasons, and never took the religion seriously. All his manifestations of goodwill towards Islam were a farce. He does call himself Sultan Al Kabir in his autobiography. I don't know if this is corroborated by his contemporaries or is it mere self-agrandization.
