Feeling British is kind of a broad term and very subjective. If I, for instance, took interest in another culture pure out of interest it would mean I would have to leave. The love for the country is mostly there for most Muslims in UK, as the country has provided them with a home and a future for their children. They just love their culture and religion so much that they are not willing to let go of it. Being british is not being atheist or Muslim or vegan or white. It is about being part of it, of society, of the community.

When my dad came to uk he had nothing and lost a father at the age of 12 he had to provide for the family when he turned 16 that's when he came to uk from Malawi Africa and has never ever been on benefits and is still working and hes 58 years. As much as I agree with the premise of that video, I'm still waiting to hear one single Muslim recognize that it is not easy to see your country changing before your eyes and not be angered. It is not easy to feel that people are coming and they want you to respect their culture and not the other way around. The cultural clash is just too much sometimes. We now have people (mainly Muslims) protesting around a school because they don't want their children to learn that gay people exist and that, despite any religious value, they should be respected. If the No Outsiders program was about Muslim inclusivity instead of LGBT inclusivity and a bunch of white supremacists were to protest it they wouldn't stop complaining about how racist and islamophobic Britain is.

I find this journalist quite irritating for some reason. Surely questioning individuals if they feel british and muslim is a misnomer. People would ridicule him if he asked a middle class white british buddhist if they felt less british due to their practice of Buddhism ? The questions of ethnicity/heritage and 'britishness' etc. are an entirely seperate issue. Imo The real question, which is more uncomfortable, is: Is it no coincidence that British society has no history of direct islamic influence due to Islam's clear incompatibility with British values. And is the multicultural quest destined to create a two tier society? The white middle class british led islam (as in the norwich example) being the exception to the rule rather than a viable norm. Even the white muslim guy from norwich looked clearly uncomfortable with his inclusion with the 'wider' uk muslim community stereotypes and identified very much more with his own white brit society without any personal turmoil.

Islam however, look at the problems this has caused; from the weekly Allah Ackbar attack to please its bloodthirsty God, to the million children attacked, to the school teachers killed for teaching the wrong type of R.E.
