Did you ever have any issues with the fenders being difficult to remove at the bottom where they connect to the sills; due to previous idiot owners crushing them when jacking incorrectly? Or is that just my luck with my r33 😑

When I first got the 33 I pulled the whole car apart. One of the first things I fixed was the under sil guard mounts. Straightened them out and re tapped the threads. Most 33’s will be crushed due to lack of knowledge on how to Jack the car up dude unfortunately

Does this only happen if you remove the inner guard liners? I've been worried about it for some time however I don't see how it's possible to rub the loom if the liners are in place.

A lot of imports these days mate no longer have the inner liners. Once you roll your guards you loose the mounting points for the liners, so most of them got thrown in the bin over the years.

@@sedangarage8241 Not entirely true. I own a 33 also. It has rolled guards and liners. The guards are just rolled only where necessary and keep some of the liner mounts.

@@CarlDSLR you must be one of the lucky ones. Out of the 6 imports I’ve owned, only 1 of them still had guard liners. Same goes for stock steering wheels, think about how many s13 steering wheels have been thrown out to someone could swap to an after market one!

@@sedangarage8241 I've owned mine for... 12 years maybe. So I just made sure to keep liners. Helps with not developing rust also. Anyway, the original point was that if you have liners still you should be ok. Until you wear through those.

@@CarlDSLR yeah that’s it hey. It also depends on how hard you want to roll you guards. If you’ve got wheels that aren’t a good fit, well then your liners will go haha!
