If you haven’t done this to your FZ/MT-10, definitely worth it!

But someone told me about the break from the MT09 is better than the break from the MT10 ?
@markhall34346 ай бұрын
2023 XSR900.. fair improvement w/ ECB HH Pads. Stock looked to be metallic.. similar to a car.. the ECB's were definitely lot more metal, less asbestos stuff. replaced all four front pads in like 15 minutes.. they slide out the back w/o removing caliper. Easy. You may rather remove to clean out your claipers. The HH grab vs pressure ratio was much better.. felt more confident. Haven't done any border case or stop distance testing. This bike I think has the same radial brembo Master cylinder and radial NISSN 4 pot calipers as your MT10.. look similar anyway. Don't feel any need to go stainless brake lines..

Appreciate this was from a few years ago. I’m looking for pads on my sportsbike but probably won’t do a track day. Do you feel these Brembo pads are still a good choice for the street?

Yes 100%

OK so my 2023 MT-10 as new has some pretty decent stopping power but I am very interested in having significantly better brakes as I do get going pretty well in the twisties So I did some research and kept hearing about SBS brake pads and in particular SBS 634 RST which also are labeled Racing and Track but both the packaging and several folks that endorse these pads claim they are also fine for the street. So at less than 1000 original miles I went ahead and bought and yesterday installed em in place of the OE Yamaha front pads. ( I also did scuff up the rotors with sand paper even though they are still so knew you can still see the original factory scuffing) Anyway installation was simple and I honestly did not notice the pads being deficient at all when cold but I mean I did not take off like a bat out of hell or anything but I chased some younger guys who were quite quick if I do say so myself ....I had a hell of time keeping them in sight but I did and I did not have a single pannicky type moment getting slowed down...was it a miraculous night and day difference? No but subjectively I believe they are better and so a well spent $90 (including tax and shipping) My only question now is how long they will last? WIll they tear up the supposedly soft rotors? Time will tell
@itsmeericb Жыл бұрын
It should not tear up the rotors. These pads may not last for a long time depending on how hard you are on the brakes or hitting the track a lot.

Should I buy 2 pairs for front and back?
@itsmeericb2 жыл бұрын
The front is where your most stopping power is. I would just get two pairs for the front.

I thought these racing pads were for track use only, as they need heat to properly work. Are they really suitable for street riding with varying outside ambient temperatures ?
@itsmeericb3 жыл бұрын
You are not wrong, but they have better bite than the stock pads. Possibly other options out there but this is what I decided to go with.

@@itsmeericb Right on , once you’ve put some rubber down , it would be interesting to know how you feel in comparison to your old gsxr 1k as well.

Would you day that was a sufficient upgrade or would you rather go for aftermarket brembo monoblocks if possible? If there has been a ecu flash, exhaust and filter done fro this bike do unleash some more of its potential if the use will be 80% road and 20% track the last thing Id want to worry about is the most crucial part, stopping power. I am looking at buying one of these, the sp model or bmw s1000r 2016-2018 model or ktm 1290 superduke R but heard allot of people are having problems with them on and off , or the ducati monster 1200R/S. Would also consider the tuono v4 in 2014-2016 spec. Any input would be appreciated.
@MN-ex5pk3 жыл бұрын
The other two options also within budget would be the triumph street and speed triple 2018-2020 models.
@itsmeericb3 жыл бұрын
I would try to upgrade as much as you can as the pads alone won’t increase stopping power and brake feel overall. The pads is a nice start though.

I literally Just got a letter from Yamaha this morning that there’s a recall on the MT10 front brakes and the fix will help stopping power. We’ll see about that lol taking it to them in the next couple weeks
@itsmeericb3 жыл бұрын
Oh really?? Nice! Hopefully they address the issue!
@lifeatredline17833 жыл бұрын
No, it’s a brake light sensor switch recall in the right side hand control unit. It has nothing to do with pads or stopping power.

@@eaglescout5816 Haha have you ever been on an MT-10 or owned one? Had nothing to do with the road I was on. That was a separate issue in itself. Go look up other videos with owners with MT-10s and they will all say how the brakes are total trash on this bike. I was messing around doing wheelies on that road for a little bit before that incident happened. Gotta know some background before you come at someone.
