I'm a terrible pilot so I use Single Cannons, it's the main way I can actually consistently hit my targets. Sure, it's not as powerful as DHC's but it helps me actually hit something lol.

For disabling the mine creep, the reason for it is probably with the more defend area objectives that pop up in different things. Being able to leave some mines there to hit anyone entering works well there rather than the mines wandering off against other targets

There used to be a Frengi vendor in sector space waaay back when the game was new, haven't thought about that guy in ages. He used to be useful for a DS9 mission. I suppose the Azura would count as a sector space vendor though.

The Kobayashi freighter call also gets the price reduction. As for the Ferangi set, I do break it out and pair it with the NX dual cannon and torpedo l, as well as the Kentari rapid missiles for a build. Mainly as a theme build on my Gold Ferangi ship.

My list for what I'll be getting: -Enterprising ingenuity phaser set. -Altamid plasma set. -Tachyokinetic converter Console. -Bionueral infusion circuits. -Plasmatic Biomatter Autoturret. -4 × B.A.T.D. Extractor for away team. After watching the video I dropped the full silent enemy set and will just get the bioneural infusion console instead, also am going to pick up the plasmatic autoturret based on your recommendation and I'll have enough lobbi leftover to get the B.A.T.D. weapon for my full away team ( borg themed). I Already have Boimler and the full Ba'ul set. Nice video, thanks for the useful info.

I don't like the AP torp that doesn't do any AP either, but I think the reason they did that is the Ba'ul torpedo is that it gets the refraction that the Ba'ul weapons do. It would also be good to see what it's buffed by. If it's damage is buffed by AP, then it could still reasonably qualify.

I do believe the Kobayashi Maru you can summon in Sector Space counts towards the Ferengi set discount, but that's about the only one in game at this time. There were a few in Battle Group Omega back in the early days, but that's no longer in the game.

The phase cannons are also good for a Surgical strikes build if you want to stick with the orange phaser theme.

This is what I'll be spending my event campaign on this year. Been looking forward to this video.

The Temporal Disruption Device is now again the highest damage torpedo (now that maelstrom got nerfed) that can be fired under spread or HY and have its cd reduced by PWO/ceaseless momentum/CF. Its also an AOE torp. However, it's targeatable and slow, but I wouldnt say its worthless.
@Stu1701 Жыл бұрын
i suppose that's fair, but I still don't like targetable torps.

Fun point you missed about the Ferengi missile launcher, and it is just a fun point, is that if you use Torpedo High Yield it will launch a nuke instead of just a higher yield torpedo. I believe the other missile launcher in the game does this as well. Anyway, it's just a funny little tidbit that you can absolutely actually nuke someone in STO. Also a question: Are single cannons good for anything at all? I run dual light, dual heavy and quads when I do cannon builds (and turrets) but I have never used light cannons and don't know anyone who has. Once again for sake of commenters attacking/wondering about my experience level I have been playing since year one of the game, lifetime sub, financially irresponsible number of ships yada yada. Thanks in advance!

Single cannons do have some use since they are so wide arc they are very easy to hit with even with big clumsy ships. A little while ago there was a bug that allowed single cannons in the rear, and that made for an interesting quirky cannon broadside build but they fixed the bug. Back in the days of per-hit procs they were better at proc'ing but nowadays with per-cycle proc-checks they don't even have that going for them. They seriously need buffing because the the extra hits still fall way too short of the damage even basic dual cannons do to be anything more than a better-than-nothing or specialty-niche choice.

We really need a console/trait in the game that reduces Tricobalt torps down to a regular torpedo cooldown times. I pretty much only use Tricobalts on my Steamrunner for immersion.

@stu1701 I agree with you about the Ba’ul Torpedo. The name is definitely mis-leading.

Great video! Some of this stuff just needs buffed or put somewhere else, like the latinum store or something lol. Definitely some good stuff though.

I'm about to clear the event campaign and i'm seriously tempted by the lobi this time. a ship is cool but lobi is really hard to come by without whaling, and that lobi gear could be the core of my future plans to put up antiproton and plasma builds.
@Stu1701 Жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with that, there's a lot of great stuff in the Lobi store that can be really helpful for improving your character's build.

the biased console 7% dam buff is if target is in "your" (not the taregets forward arc) 90degree forward fireing arc, so kind of a "must have" for any cannon tetryon build.
@thomasjoychild49627 ай бұрын
Thematically fitting for Tzenkethi, too. They put out so much pain directly in front of them that it has the tradeoff of making their forward shield facings noticeably weaker than the other ones. :P

1. The Tetryon set with the event Tet set and the advanced engineering consoles... My second best build right now is a tetryon build. It's VICIOUS but it's sorta balls in Elite. Normal and Advaced and it's downright scary. 2. "The" flu can seriously suck. People seem to love to forget all the time that flus still kill 400,000 people every year. A good way to look at it is: If it sucked when you were 15... just wait until you're 30. I almost died from the flu not that long ago myself. You think you're fine until you find out your lungs are filling with fluid because you have surprise pneumonia now. YAY! SURPRISES!

Single cannons might be sub par, they're still ok for Advanced content, as well as your Gua'uld & Battlestar Galactica immersion ... -- unlike the purple-pink Discovery "dark matter" torpedo , which ... while being "best in game" have nothing to do with Star Trek visuals .
@WalterDWormack2149 ай бұрын
Here's a thought. Could you give a bit thought to telling people some idea on just WHAT SOME of the Star Trek Online 'stuff', like the 'EXCHANGE', or the 'LOBI-STORE' is! And how does one, gain access to these venues, buy stuff on them, etc, etc, and so on.
@Stu17019 ай бұрын
Here's a thought. Could you just politely ask a question like a normal adult? You might be surprised how far that gets you with people. Lobi is obtained through two different ways. The first is by opening Lockboxes and Infinity Promotional boxes. Lockboxes are opened with Master Keys, which can be purchased with Zen on the Store, or from the Exchange with Energy Credits. Infinity Promo boxes are sold on from the Zen Store during special sales that happen periodically throughout the year. They can also be sold and purchased on the Exchange for Energy Credits. There are two vendors in the game that will give you access to the store, one on Drozona Station, the other on DS9. However, you can also access the Lobi store by double clicking your Lobi Crystals in your inventory, allowing you to open it up anywhere in the game.
