My husband bought me this ruler but it is in inches and I saw your video mahalo for it. but I see you use mm instead of inches is there a difference. I just bought 4 of your patterns ...

@@pualaniwagner789 Thanks so much for watching the video and trying my patterns. Unfortunately, no, the ruler in inches will not work for my patterns. The patterns’ measurements are in centimeters and millimeters. You’ll need the 300 mm Incra ruler shown in this video, or you can use a regular 30cm metric ruler. I’ve put a link to the one seen in this video in the Description. Book folding patterns rarely use inches. They almost always use centimeters/millimeters.

Thank you for explaining this so well. How long does it take you to fold one book? Do you sell it & what do you sell it for if you do? ❤🎉
@HaveFunBookFolding6 ай бұрын
Hi, Liz. You’re welcome. Thank you for watching. It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours for me to fold a book. The time depends on how many folds are required in a pattern. For the Family pattern seen in this video, it took me about 5 hours to fold it. You may be able to fold it faster. I like to take my time, work slowly, and enjoy the process. 🙂

Is a 90-degree-fold line better to use than the from-the-spine fold alignment? Great ruler -- have never seen this product before -- how handy and accuracy guaranteed!!
@HaveFunBookFolding5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Mary. Great question. I prefer the ruler-against-spine method instead of the 90-degree-fold method for three reasons. First, it yields more sculptural dimension in the finished design. Second, it allows me to fold on my marks more accurately. And third, the ruler method accommodates any measurement mark, whether the mark is high or low on the page. I never have to tear or cut pages along the spine to accommodate folds with the ruler method. And you're right about the Incra ruler being handy and accurate! I never book fold without it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. :)

Can you measure two nummers behind de comma (for example8,67) with this ruler? I see a lot of patterns with that kind of numbers
@HaveFunBookFolding Жыл бұрын
Hi, Saartje. This ruler has marking holes at every full, 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 millimeters, from 0 to 300mm. If I encounter measurements that have 2 numbers after the comma or decimal, I ignore the second number. In your example of 8,67, I would ignore the 7 and mark 8,6 cm. Thanks for watching.
