Sheesh. $2.2k month on food! Even with free lunch at work haha. You need an Amex Gold to rack up some MR!

Haha yea it's high, but again I had 2 major trips this year, both of which included me paying for most major meals with people paying me back afterwards! I'm devastated for the Amex Gold... that welcome bonus really makes it a non-starter...

@@KevinYangI’m right with you bro. I opted for the WOH over the gold since I was getting 12 months 5x on groceries so I pushed the gold off for this year until finding out the news. Plus having the platinum makes it a card I’ll never get now 😩

@@pemalama23 I feel you man, and unfortunately I don't think that rule is changing anytime soon. One can only hope for an upgrade offer from the Amex Green I guess..

Chase’s biggest benefit is being able to transfer to World of Hyatt. They still have the best redemptions.

Totally agree! It's unfortunate that I was traveling with groups for my trips this year so it wasn't as worth it to go for Hyatt redemptions, especially in cities that are so amazing *outside* the hotel!

If your grocery store has an app where you can link your card and pay in person with the app, you can get the 3x online grocery points

@@KevinYang I linked my chase sapphire preferred to Amazon and when I shop at Whole Foods, I can use my in store AR code to checkout but chase categorizes it as online groceries

I utilize cards from 4 ecosystems making it a little difficult at times to maximize my points. I like Amex and Chase systems better though.

Where do you transfer points to when you finally redeem them? Some programs have overlapping partners that could help you earn those points even easier

@@KevinYang Honestly so far, for Citi points right now I've been using those for cash back to mainly off set travel expenses; for Amex haven't used those much yet lol except I've transferred some to Marriott and Hilton during transfer bonuses to top off my account; for Capital One I've just used some points for the erase feature but I'm planning on using those in the future to transfer to partners and for Chase I've used them mainly to transfer to Hyatt. I should also include I mainly at least as of recently been using Chase cards for spend. I plan on spending 15k on my WOH card this year for the FNA.

At $2200/month, it seems like the Savor would be a better deal than the Savor One, but what do I know. And that’s not to mention Amex Gold, which might be better depending on if you can use the credits or not, and depending on how you spend your accumulated points.

I am settling in with a basic two-card set up for both personal and business. Personal: AmEx Gold and Chase Freedom Unlimited. Business: AmEx Blue Business Plus and Chase Ink Cash. Plus me or my wife usually have one new card that we are working on the SUB. I plan to get the Chase Sapphire Preferred later in 2024. I have to slow down on the new credit cards as I used two to earn the Southwest Companion Pass. Well worth it!!!

Great setup! Do you have plans on a premium travel card for things like lounge access and status? And the CSP will be an amazing addition!

I have the same scenario of having the Amex Platinum and now can’t get the Gold welcome bonus. 😢 I do pay a lot on rent and am now considering a Bilt Mastercard.

Yeah the Bilt Mastercard is like getting a mini welcome bonus every year (as long as the rules don't change) haha

Is having 3 ecosystems instead of one Like Amex gold and Platinum (Amex points) not too complicated?

Imo Chase and Amex are core, so other than that, Capital One is my main other ecosystem, raelly just for the Venture X. The extra complication is why I haven't really ventured (no pun intended) into Citi or others even though they have some solid cards. How many ecosystems are you in?

Make sense. I have Amex, Chase and capital one. But I don’t like capital one services and I’m going to cancel them. I am probably just going to focus only on Amex ecosystem and keep one Chase card as a backup card.

Hi, why do you prefer using the sapphire for hotel booking at 2CPP rather than the VX at 10CPP through their portal or 2CPP on other sites? Thanks

It really depends on where I'm booking. Lots of times I'm booking for a much cheaper rate on 3rd party sites that don't show on those portals, and so I'm using this card to still get a higher multiplier in doing so!

None that are that unknown... Bilt, SavorOne, Chase Aeroplan, or the US Bank ecosystem (courtesy of Stan) are probably what I'm considering right now! What about for you?

At/near the top of my list of cards to go for! I've been prioritizing other ones last year with some great welcome bonuses in the meantime.

Well if you transfer to a transfer partner then you are pooling all of your points there. I like to keep my cards in one ecosystem so that I can track my spend and payments better.

Only transfer if you're about to use those points! I also keep my points within ecosystems like Chase and Amex until I'm actively booking. How do you track your spend and payments usually?

@@KevinYang I used the Chase Bank app, since that is the ecosystem that I am in. I always pay off my statement balance, which is all done through the Chase app.
