Sou iniciante no aprendizado de Pt-Br e notei que há muitos sotaques diferentes nos vídeos do KZbin que ensinam o brasileiro. Gosto de todos eles. O sotaque desse apresentador soa muito elegante! É um verdadeiro prazer ouvir. Obrigado por este vídeo divertido e informativo.

Thanks you. This is a really good video (excellent video) I only have one request (could you repeat every Portuguese phrase (don’t slow it down, only repeat once) and leave the text a little bit longer on the screen as it disappears too quickly 👍🏻

@@Van_Wilder keep up the good work my friend. I could practice with you if you ever need someone to practice with. I have always learned quickly until I started studying Portuguese. It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. My brain’s operating system seems to be English only. Portuguese words don’t mean anything to me until I translate them into English.

Oi capitão, great video, love the insight on words you can use to address waiters 😘Are these only to adress male waiters because they end with -o? Saudações de Hamburgo (Alemanha)

Fala, jogador! Glad you enjoyed the video. All the examples I showed in the video are used to address male waiters as they end with "o". But you can definitely use the feminine form of those words to address a waitress (with the exception of "paizão" 😅). Here's what the feminine version of those words look like: "guerreira", "patroa", "minha consagrada", "abençoada", "diplomata", "capitã" and "jogadora".

I’ve been studying Portuguese for 9.5 years now and I’ve visited Brasil 18 times but I still can’t read or converse and I have to translate everything into English to understand. I study every day and I practice every day with my Brasilian girlfriend for 1-3 hours and we’ve been practicing for 6.5 years now. I still can’t understand her except for an occasional word so she has to speak slowly so I can translate everything. I have classes, read books, use apps, watch movies and KZbin videos and practice with native speakers and in study groups. I haven’t been able to understand any words without translating which prevents me from conversing. I can’t order food yet because I can’t understand what the waiters are saying. I’ve never had problems learning before. My pronunciation and spelling are good.

@@Kettle1 I have to translate everything one word at a time into English but I usually can’t make anything out except for an occasional word. Most everything sounds like gibberish. I go to a practice group in a city an hour away and there are about 20 people there but they only speak Portuguese and told me not to use English so I can’t ask any questions. I can’t understand what they are saying so it’s hard to sit for 3 hours and not understand what they’re saying. I need to find a way to learn how to understand without translating everything. Thanks for the help!

@@patfromamboyI can so relate (been to Brazil a couple of times) on my second visit to Brasil, I actually moved to Rio and attended Portuguese classes at a top language school and there too I barely was allowed to speak English which left me super frustrated as I knew and understood nothing - and like you, could hardly ask questions, let alone structure sentences as a compete newbie . We would go on field trips and it was frowned upon if I spoke English.

Earlier in the video 04:20 you mention the difference when ordering food using gostaria or quero, where depending on one’s tone, quero can come across as being rude. Later in the video 05:56 when ordering steak, you use the word queria, stating that it’s less formal. What’s the difference between quero and queria?
@Learn-Brazilian-Portuguese
@Learn-Brazilian-Portuguese 4 ай бұрын
"(Eu) quero" translates to "I want." "(Eu) queria" is a softer, more polite way of expressing a desire, similar to "I would like." But in most cases, using "quero" instead of "queria", is completely fine too. If you say it nicely, it doesn't really matter. Especially if you’re just starting to learn Portuguese, you can use "quero" to make it easier to remember, since "queria" is a bit trickier to conjugate.
