So glad to have found this today. Lovely rapport between the two of you and very informative. Thank you to Aunty for bringing up the other term for "No" in Fante, (although I do hear 'Deibi' in the Fante regions). My Cape Coast mum still says "Orho" (very difficult to spell). Thank you for this

I feel like we will all be speaking the language after these lessons. Some of the words sound familiar as I've got Ghanaian friends. Thanks Mum 🥰

👍🏾 Thanks to your mum for the lessons.... I chuckled at the conversation about watches being more of an accessory than for actually keeping to time😂

I think mom was naturally born a teacher. How she explains the words bit by bit, especially the tro-tro thing. I didn't know how that word came about until now. Great lessons out there. Thanks mom👍🏻

We have different kinds of Twi languages in Ghana
@kwekughartey28897 ай бұрын
Yes however, Fante is not a different kind of Twi, but it is related to Twi as both are part of the Akan language family. So the language is also called Akan and it’s dialects are Twi and Fante. While they share some similarities in vocabulary and grammar due to their common Akan roots, they are distinct languages with their own unique characteristics and dialects. Twi itself includes different dialects like Asante, Akyem, Akuapem, etc which are more widely spoken compared to Fante. Fante also has its own dialects such as Borbor, Boka, Ane etc.
