Ok, perhaps this needs a bit of explanation, so here it is. First of all, prince ram, his brother Lakshman and seeta were human, made of flesh and blood. Ram was the avatar of lord Vishnu, but not a god because the purpose of Ram's birth was to kill Ravana, and only a human, or a monkey could kill Ravana (because of a boon he had) So, Ram had to be a mortal human. Ram never told Seeta to not go out of their cottage, It was Laksham who drew the protective circle around their cottage when he went to look for Ram in the jungle, cause he knew something sinister was afoot (and it was). So when Ravana came disguised as a sage, it was the responsibility of seeta to feed him cause it is considered unholy to let a sage leave your home with an empty bowl. So, when seeta went missing, Ram and lakshman had no idea where she was or who took her, only while they were searching in the jungle were they able to find out that Ravana took her. Now the monkey god, Hanuman was powerful enough to go into Lanka, burn it down and bring sita away, but that wouldn't have killed Ravana, so it didn't happen. Instead, first Ram helped Sugriv get his rightful kingdom from his evil brother, and then Sugriv gave Ram an army, as promised. Now the issue was to cross the vast ocean between India and Lanka, so first Ram prayed to the sea, when the sea didn't answer, he threatned to dry it using his weapon, and then the sea let them built a bridge across it to cross to Lanka, fight Ravana, kill him and get back seeta, and then they lived happily ever after till their death. Unfortunately since in the time when Ramayana was written, no copyright law existed and copies were made by scribes, someone added an extra chapter where it says that Rama exiled sita because of suspicion. So in short, Ramayana is not a tale of a god with human defects, but of a human who faced incredible odds and yet stood by the morally righteous path and won over a brilliant but evil king with the might of virtue, brotherhood and friendship. And that's why Hindus worship him as a god, not because he was born as one, or claimed to be one. But because of all the good he did for others. Thanks for reading
