Mostly,, high end psychopaths can be a bit tricky, you don't necessarily spend enough time with them to observe though you can probably see from the start, you have to give people the benefit of the doubt I suppose....unless they put you in immediate danger....;D

You are playing with fire here, Trust is all based on attachment, Which in itself is oxytocin release So what you are doing is persecuting people who do not release oxytocin as nature/God intended "forgive them for they know not what they do". this sentence is based around this biological fact Can Mum's biological command to baby to detach be overridden ? NO But the part of the brain that obeys that command can be tricked into relaxing and then an oxytocin release is possible

Penitus Oculatus, you could have been an FBI profiler. Or.. teacher if you'd prefer the office job XD I've always had problems with this, I experienced a lot of mild aggression in my home as a young kid, yelling, threats, some violence but not much.. my conversation skills were stunted from youth, eye contact, etc. I'll go from overly courteous to spiteful if I think someone's judging me poorly, as in not as good as the FBI method, at least put real work into it, be specific, thorough.. I appreciate this, it does help. If any good came from all that.. I take judgement of others VERY seriously now because of that. I can tolerate bad things?? I can tell if it's just spite or aggression, or actual hate/hostility. Workin' on it. Would this come across as shifty to you? hypothetically, just curious.

Hi Rabbi, In my walk with God there are times when I am surrounded by untrustworthy people, and though I'm not bitter, I believe that it is because He wants me to trust in Him first and foremost no matter if the situation or person is trustworthy, untrustworthy, or not. Like King David wrote in the Psalms to put not your trust in princes or the sons of men, but God above all.

Someone engaging in religious rituals (like a weekly going to church / synagogue / mosque) satisfies those three points to some extent. A person engaging in said rituals is more likely to be humbled before God, creation and his/her peers, is showing consistency by just being there every week and shows some level of accountability since being part of a community entails expectations and commitments that if left unchecked will result in being ostracized. If they weren't accountable and they've been there for a long time, they wouldn't sit right with the community or they wouldn't be there at all.

Who would do business with Bernie Madoff, Jeffery Epstein, or Sam Bankman Fried knowing what we know now? That's business. But what if you are in a personal (romantic) relationship with the person? Now it really gets complicated. Your head says one thing, and your heart (emotions) say another? The heart usually wins out because we want to trust the object of our love.

I’m 66y old I don’t believe that no one is born evil and trust worthy. I think back in life experiences and realized the many times and ways I’ve been intentionally hurt; all the way back to 4 years old. Not afraid of a bully and offering a token of sharing my favourite food in case I angered him. He threw it in the dirt. I can’t believe he learned all his evil. He was born that way. I’m sure some infants take advantage of their caretakers by intentionally being demanding on them. The opposite of what I was. I believe this because of all the narcissistic behaviours I’ve witnessed and experienced myself at all levels. I also believe that narcissists are at a higher percentage in the population than I’ve read. There’s too much intentional hurting in the world. Now when I turn the other cheek it isn’t my face. My highest respect and trust is with a Rabbi. Thank you. I get comfort from your words. I hope to learn more.

The moment when a person says (vocalizes) "Trust Me" is the moment I look for their motives... with intensity. If they don't pay attention to my close scrutiny, chances are good they are honest. If, however, they notice the attention, invariably, will attempt to direct that attention to one thing or another. I point my head where they're directing, my focus is intently on them, their actions, studying them. With that observation, such a person has yet proven to be without ulterior motive. Sometimes the result is a simple card trick, most times that deception retains varying shades of something "dark". One individual I can trust to be honest even if it's painful. Another I can trust to to be deceitful and hurtful, even trying to take my life. Both can be trusted. One deserves my attention, the other demands it. I'm not a believer. neither an atheist, I observe. To "know" I consider the most important, yet, the (what I presume) highest knowledge doesn't get one on a city bus without the required fare, though most precious. Elusive. Yes, the grand designer is in the heart of everything. I've seen this truth all my life (I don't recall not seeing this). Yet simply because everything has this is no reason to presume an individual's direction, one way or another. I joined the Masonic Lodge many years ago to spend time with my father (get him off the couch in his old age). We met on the level, parted on the square, were bound by oaths of brotherly love and guided in that rhetoric and allegory, teachings intended to maintain that "level and square in our dealings". I can think of three masons with whom those precepts were kept. Thousands failed the test, though, I haven't met them all. People are people, all equal and quite predictable. Good intentions... now there's a different topic. Rabbi, if you please, talk to me (us) about humility, the definition, meaning and act of being humble. Thank you

Be careful using this theory against someone who's trying to save your life from imminent danger. As a personal trainer I used this 'trust me' phrase a lot with my clients who ate themselves to death... They thought I was making shit up to take their money. You observe, yet observation alone does not distinguish pyramid from pit. On top of that, observation is judgment. In that judgment, people act different. Nervousness isn't always about guilt. Rabbi, you are such an eloquent man. During your talk I would start to think of some facet of this enormously important topic, and what do you know 5 minutes later you would be very clearly talk about it. I’m a 72 year old gay man [raised R.C.] in the 50’S and mid 60’S. I was always acutely aware I was different and found I eventually had to do a lot of self-editing. I would say I was moderately untrusting. Thank God I had some familial support or I wouldn’t even be here now. My dad’s mother is the #1 person in my young self that loved me absolutely 100%. God bless her. It’s been a slow SPIRITUAL process but I’m much less guarded now and have a wonderful partner. And a few accepting friends. Two more ideas: I think of trust as that warm blanket where I feel totally safe. It DOES require nurturing. Second, to review EVERYONE in my past and current life experience and see the DIVINE in them. Errors can be forgiven-and each person has to discover and amend/heal their own MISTAKES. These mistakes [sometimes of the most grievous quality] result from US FORGETTING WHO WE REALLY ARE. Ultimately we are all accountable for ourselves. And there is hope for everyone. Respectfully, Jim

Very sad.But I’m still there for anyone who needs help if it’s possible even at my age.I’ve never expected anything in return. I have always been lied 🤥 to. It’s one thing I hate. But I will be there for them. If possible. Bizrat Hashem. I truly believe I’ve been guided to you. Im Ayin Ha Tova B “H 🙏you are an 😇🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱May Hashem give you abundant Blessings for you and all that is yours .with all things in all things . 🙏 thank you praised be the most High for eternity. Amen Ve Amen. !!!!!! I’m a survivor of Survivors.

Trust the self, be trustworthy, believe in self and the need to trust others begins to diminish. The reason why is that we no longer place trust so highly in our day to day thoughts, we do not question trust as we ourselves are trusted by the self. To do this we must face our demons, light our shadows and be brutally honest about our past and how we wish to be in future. 🙏🏻

In the last few days I had the experience of having the person I trusted the most in the whole wide world tell me that the road was clear and to cross immediately. I trusted the person so much, I didn't look and when I stepped into the gutter there was a bus going by at full throttle just inches from my nose. The person I trusted blindly for decades of my life almost killed me. - and didn't express any regret, remorse, shock or try to comfort me in any way. As if that weren't enough, that person said: "Cross now!" exactly as that person did when I almost got hit by a bus two subsequent times. Of course, those times I looked. But that person still made the same "mistake" two subsequent times. That's how much it took for me to learn that I wasn't in the relationship I thought I was and that person was not the person I put blind trust in. Now, thank God, I know that no one ever does anything to us unless we have brought the experience into being ourselves. We generate our experiences. So, now I have to deal with the reality of being someone who trusts foolishly and has something in me that will kill me, whom I project in the form of someone very close to me who I can't get out of my life. I have absolutely no idea how to deal with this. HaShem has brought me to ground zero concerning trust and being trustworthy. Everything you think you know about trust is ephemeral. What you think you know about trust is only so good as the next time you'll be brought to ground zero. Fortunately and unfortunately, the experiences and tests that HaShem gives me at this level are far beyond anything in the Rabbinic literature. Maybe you can still find the level of wisdom you need in books; I no longer can. The tests get much harder, Shimon.

I think there is a difference between trust and hope. That difference is critical when it comes to people. Hope comes from the belief another person can be the Yin to our Yang, trust puts that burden on ourselves. It's a hard road, but I think a good one if you can hang in there. Best.

I have some people in my family, i would like to claim as my previous family, but do not know how. Hopefully, all is well between you and your former children and this will bring you back together.

I don't know why KZbin recommended your channel to me, but I have been absolutely loving it. I've never been moved so thoroughly, or even resonated with any religious teachings before. I've gained a lot from this channel. From one human to another, thanks for putting this out into the universe for me to stumble upon. I burned down my forest of trust when I was younger, and through accountability I have regained the trust of my friends, family, and spouse. This really helped me appreciate how far I've come to be trustworthy, reliable, and honest.

Hi Samus, I agree. Rabbi Jacobson (and Rabbi Manis Friedman!) are very wise men and both have been suggested by the Algorithm to me. It came at the right time and I am thankful for it. After reading a lot about Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Animism, NewAge, etc. the teachings of both Rabbis feel very warm and resonate on a special level. It is nice to meet other people who feel the same - I can not talk about it in real life because people in my surrounding are mostly atheist, agnostic or into New Age. They deny G-D in so many ways. It is okay for me. We all go our own way. I am happy that you were able to build back your trust and be stronger. All the best to you! 🕊️

@@carolina_is_free Friedman is not a wise man. He is a clown. A man who dares saying "we, human beings,do not need God but He needs us" is neither a rabbi nor a wise man. He is a dangerous man disguised in wise man. Open your ears. No offense. May Adonai guide you

@@rubenk5677 Hi Ruben, this was just my impression about him - he seems so nice and experienced. Why is he not wise (but dangerous) in your opinion - I would like to understand your point of view? Edit: What about Rabbi Jacobson - is he trustworthy in your opinion?

I was asked by my sister if I would look after her cat while she was away on vacation for 2 months. It involved driving up to her place twice a day. I told her that I would agree to look after it for a month and no longer, but she still tried to convince me that I should look after it for the whole time. Then before she left for the two month trip she decided to go for another two week trip and again asked me to look after her pet. At that point I realized that she did not respect me as a person and was simply trying to use me without taking into account the inconvenience and the enormous amount of time I would spend at this task for no compensation. The realization made me angry and I decided to break my word to her to teach her a lesson. She later tried to pull a guilt trip on me, which I simply saw as more evidence of her manipulation and it had no effect on me. My lesson from this experience is to have more respect for my own time and not be so quick to agree to help someone that does not deserve it. In other circumstances I always try to honour my commitments using the guiding principle of consideration for the feelings of others.

why did you not care for the cat at your home and also give it some company? think- a cat all alone , a animal who cannot speak for itself. Here you go and post about losing trust with your sister all underthe flag of your personal agenda🤔 to never have wanted the responsibility as you stated in your first paragraph. 😟😬
@serahcw2723 Жыл бұрын
Really a cat 😂 I hate to break it to you but you the with the problem. First and foremost if you had reservations from the beginning you should have said no. Simple as that. Especially if you don't love pets unconditionally. Otherwise you'll end up being miserable and unkind for no good reason to the cat and your sister. Learn to say no to things you don't like or agree with.

@@serahcw2723 As you don't live my life and don't know all the details of my situation your comments are unwelcome. If you honestly think about all the situations in your life when you regretted your decisions afterwards you are in absolutely no position to think yourself superior to me and to give unwanted advice. @Kallengar I love your example, thank you for sharing it. The thing is also that when we do a favour to a family member or friend and we feel the person is taking advantage of our time or energy with no compensation, and maybe at a cost for us, we may have resentment or regret to have accepted the burden/task (from someone who took care of a close family member's business for 6 months while the person went abroad/literally saved their business) 🙂
