That Old Santa brings back so many wonderful memorys ,when I was a younger girl.My 2 brothers and I used to see who could get down stairs to see what Santa had brought us. We were so greatful for what every we got. There was only my Dad working,but we were happy.Now at 73yrd. old I am still greatful for what ever Santa can bring me! God bless and Merry Christmas.

My brother and sister and I went into foster care on Christmas Eve. I was 4. They were 1 and 2. We had seen Santa on TV and knew that he was good and kind and good children got toys. To help us thru this time their son dressed up as Santa. He made hoof sounds on the floor upstairs. My mouth and eyes were open wide. We had never heard reindeer hoofs on our roof before. Santa was jolly and had presents in his bag. I will never forget.

Good stuff. In May 2024 I decided to make my own aluminium inspired Christmas tree, which is now completed. I had an old Christmas tree stand so I got some wooden dowel that was a good fit for it. I think the dowel was 3 feet long. I got 2 packets of stiff wire that was already cut into 20 inch lengths and they made 49 branches by wrapping silver tinsel around them. I drilled the holes into the dowel 8 ring of 6 with equal spacing. Getting the angles right was the tricky bit.The ring of branches would be offset to the ring above, then the ring of holes below that would again line up with the first ring, so the whole tree looked fuller when I got to the bottom, oh and one branch in the top. I wrapped the dowel in baking foil and glued it into position. Then I rubbed my fingers over the dowel to find the holes I made and pierced them so the branches could be fitted. The whole find cost £25 or about $33. How you seen the prices of those things online?

I did vintage last year and again this year, it brings back memories from when I was a kid and we would drive from Fl to Arkansas to see our grandparents and when we didn’t go to Arkansas my parents went all out “We would hear all the reindeer landing on our roof and then Santa. walking but we were not allowed to get out of bed, he he! Santa......love the vintage style. My tree is decorated in Santa's.....no two the same. I add Poinsettias and ribbon. I alternate green tree or flocked tree every other year but I always make sure they have a vintage feel.

I love all that you do here, but my personal favorite (being born in the mid fifties) are the retro vintage. Like another fellow crafter, a move meant many years of my collecting be let go, some due to issues beyond my control ended up in a dumpster.
