Must See Scenic Drive in the Smokies - Pigeon Forge Foothills Parkway

The Foothills Parkway is a scenic drive in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park close to Pigeon Forge, TN. You'll get amazing views of the Smokies without having to hike. On our drive, we started in Wears Valley, TN on Hwy 321. We eventually crossed Hwy 321 again around Walland, TN and continued on to the intersection of Hwy 129 that takes you to The Tail of the Dragon and Fontana Dam.

Yep, get up there and slip on down to Fontana lake, turn left and go along side of Fontana Lake, a very pretty drive. Go on up through Bryson to Cherokee. Keep going, back over Newfound Gap and down to Gatlinburg. If you go on to Pigeon Forge, to traffic light #2, take a left to go back to Wears Valley and complete the circle. It’ll take all day; but, it’s a nice drive. Good food in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Have a great time.

I was looking on Google maps for scenic drives in the Gatlinburg area and saw this one. I'm considering this drive for my September 23 - 30 Tennessee vacation. Thanks for the video!

I highly recommend taking this drive at least once. There are overlooks with great views. If you drive all the way to Hwy 129 at the end of the video and take a left you'll be on The tail of the Dragon. It's neat to drive it at least once too.
