Most people I train with at a decent level, can get this concept. I find the struggle is an effective second serve hitting the ball 7’oclock (or so) to get some spin. The body position, arm, chest etc…

Going to try this out for my serve. Any tips on what the arm does after racket drop like the racket on edge part or pronation, should we be thinking about any of that while we are trying to hit the ball?
@ChangBangTennis10 ай бұрын
I would think about swinging up and then feeling the racket head come down after you hit the serve. Don't need to focus on pronating imo. In my head, I focus more on the target of my serve and less on the mechanics. If my serve feels off, then I would think more on mechanics of the serve during practice.

A slo-mo video of your serve from the side might illustrate the “hitting down” into the box better.

your videos always pump me up - like your channel name says you are BANGING these serves - question - can I supinate my arm and still get a good service? My arm naturally wants to supinate - not sure how much MPOH this is costing me
@ChangBangTennis Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment! You mean supinate (the racket face is closedd at the top) right before you hit to try to get more power? If it works for you then you can definitely still have a good service. But if you feel like you're over-rotating (over pronating?) your arm/wrist on impact of the serve and it's making your serve more inconsistent, then i do not recommend it.

Great video and drill, very easy to follow. Curious how fast were those serves going at the end ball park?

Thank you for watching. I would say around 100-110mph

My serve got more pop when I stopped relying on my live arm to muscle the ball and just feel the racket pull the ball down if that makes sense.

Can you make video on forehead and single handed backhand
@ChangBangTennis10 ай бұрын
I have a two handed backhand so I don't think I will do a single handed backhand tutorial. I will do a forehand one in the future
@abhs1141 Жыл бұрын
i might try this later . i always have a problem , the harder i try to hit , the the racket is like is not moving as fast as i would want , as if there is an automatic braking system to not allow me to swing it freely . i feel like the mechanic and chain transfer of movement from my shoulder to the arm is distorted . msybe this is because i tried to hit down , aiming the racket towards the target , instead of hitting up as possible and let the racket go down naturally .

Yes, I agree with the last part of the comment. Thank you for watching.

I always hit the corner of my head on the racquet take back and that messes everything up, any suggestions? Thank you and Happy New Year!!!
@ChangBangTennis Жыл бұрын
Bring the takeback a little farther out. Mentally picture where your racket is on the swing. You can also think about more space between your serving arm and body. Thank you and happy new year!

hey ChangBang, when I'm serving i personally don't feel anything with the arm once i accelerate. Is this the same with you or do you really feel the racket drop?
@ChangBangTennis Жыл бұрын
I don't really feel my racket accelerating. I feel the racket follow through on my serve. I feel the impact, then I feel my racket and arm go down to finish the serve.

I tend to fall to the left after my serve with my right ( back leg) turning forward and left. How do I avoid that and what can I do to keep the back leg and entire body behind the serve rather than fall to the left losing momentum?
@ChangBangTennis9 ай бұрын
My first impression would be the toss is either too far left or too far behind you. Try moving the toss to the right or in front of your body a little and see.

I have a stability problem with my left knee , I am right handed, but cannot put that much on my left leg like that. Is there any way I can serve without landing on my left leg like that?
@ChangBangTennis Жыл бұрын
The landing is just how most players land. If you cannot land like that, it's no problem. You can still have a good serve. I would say don't try to jump that much. You can still hit a good serve without jumping. Meanwhile, I would do leg exercises to help strengthen the left knee.
