In this vlog, we return, for the third time, to Swetha Lunch Home in Karwar for a satisfying seafood meal that, though served in a restaurant, is the sort of food that would be served in a Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin home in the region. It was also interesting to meet the Basrur family and learn more about their preparation methods and culinary philosophy that makes this modest eatery a must-try when in this part of Uttara Kannada. A lot of them don't know that Karwar has it's own cuisine. Most of them confuse karavali food with Mangalorean dishes. But our food is way different from anywhere in Karavali. Anyone who tastes our food remembers is forever. The sad part is our hoteliers have not opened any branches in big cities like Bangalore and Mumbai resulting almost no marketing of our identity. We drove through Karwar from Goa to eat at this place after seeing this video….food is nothing great to write about except for the freshness of the fish(this is subjective and depends from person to person). What shocked me was the rudeness of the owner and the staff around. They denied us entry to the Ac section as it was post 3pm. We (my wife and 3yr old daughter) were the last to enter the restaurant. Anyone who came after us were shooed away like dogs….all this happened when we sat and had our food right next to the door. Decided to finish off fast and leave the place and vouched not to come back because of the customer service

Regularly watching your other channel for several years and subscribed but this was the first video i watched on this channel. While i have always loved every video of yours, this one made uncomfortable watching the poor vegetarian friend having an empty plate for 19 mins while you guys finished the meal. Something that should never happen with a group a friends in any restaurant. If someone watching this felt uncomfortable just imagine how that poor friend of yours felt. Please always make sure that such things don't happen to people eating with you. One shouldn't ever do that to even enemies who eat with you forget friends. Didn't want to say this but had to so that hopefully it isn't repeated. Have a good day. The food seemed great but a restaurant shouldn't have to be reminded to serve all in a group together. 19 mins into the video the poor chap got served some food
