Must Try Vietnamese Food in Da Nang

It's our first time visiting Vietnam and Da Nang is the first stop in this deliciously new adventure of ours. We've always loved Vietnamese food and after watching so many great food videos from Vietnam it was exciting for us to finally come and experience Vietnamese cuisine for ourselves - actually in Vietnam itself.
In this episode we visited multiple Da Nang local favourites such as our first stop Mì Quảng Thi. Mi Quang is a popular noodle (especially for breakfast) and you will see stores selling this dish everywhere in Da Nang and Central Vietnam.

Next up we visit Bep Hen, a local family style multi-level Vietnamese restaurant with a rustic, tropical vibe and incredibly flavoured food. If you're looking for where to eat in Da Nang, this is definitely a great Vietnamese restaurant to try out.

We had a fun time eating at a popular make-your-own-spring-roll dish at Bánh tráng thịt heo Xứ Quảng. Not only was it a joy to make and eat but they also had some herbs we've never seen in other stores like jungle brooch leaves which enhanced the flavour. Thanks to the guys at this local Vietnamese restaurant who helped schooled us on how to prep and eat this tasty fresh roll!

Da Nang is known as a popular destination for tourists and locals to get a bit of pampering done. So we decided to take a quick break from all the eating to visit Queen Spa and experience a unique hot bamboo Vietnamese massage. Queen Spa was a great place to get this traditional Vietnamese massage in Da Nang, as they were the first spa in Da Nang to offer this treatment. The staff were all friendly and professional and the hot bamboo massage was definitely a fantastic way to unwind.

With our muscles relaxed it opened up space for more food so we get back to business with what turned out to be one of Yen's favourite Vietnamese dishes of our whole trip so far - Bánh Xèo. Bánh Xèo are basically sizzling hot eggy crepes filled with shrimp, pork and veges that you dip in a salty shrimp paste sauce.

Great food, people are friendly, each city is rather distinct but it can definitely be a bit of a culture shock for those that haven't been to other South East Asian countries before especially when it comes to the traffic and cleanliness I suppose (especially if you're comparing to other Asian countries like Singapore and Japan which are very orderly and clean). Definitely a great experience though, full of history, culture, and beauty. Absolutely love all the fresh herbs in Vietnamese food! Those berries they gave you sound kind of like Sichuan peppercorns with the numbing effect

Yes! They always give a plate or basket of fresh veggies with most noodle dishes and yea that berry was a lot like Sichuan peppers with the numbing effect but it was the size of a very small blue berry and a darkish colour.. sorta crumbles in your mouth after you chew 😅 I would not eat that on its own again haha but they explained the leaves came from that plant 🙂

Hiya Faye 👋🙂 Hehe nah the bamboo massage doesn't hurt at all. Although it's hot it's a nice therapeutic heat I reckon and the pressure they use you can ask them to go harder or softer but I liked the amount of strength they used, felt just right for me ☺️ hahah thank you 😅 I couldn't think of another word that seemed more appropriate than "yoink".. like a quick pull lol 😂 Aww you recognize yum as food for sure haha it really was all really delicious food everywhere we ate but that banh xeo sizzling eggy hot crepe thing was so new for me and absolutely delicious. Peter was surprised at how much I ate 😂 I'm sure your new video is great! Everything looks amazingggggggggggggg! We love Vietnamese food especially me (Ony). Our favourite could probably be the first spot and the last spot! We love Vietnamese pancake so much here in Melbourne. The crepe from last spot looks like the mini version of Vietnamese pancake. Mi Quang is a favorite of mines! The caramelized pork is a home-cooked dish I make at home!! It's so amazing!! Great with white rice!! Those eggplants is cooked so well... The garlic prawns looks mindblowing

There's also a caramelized shrimp, that sometimes goes with the caramelized egg & pork. Since seafood is expensive, I guess they omit that.

Oh man we totally understand lol Thai massages are the best!! We love them too! This Vietnamese one was really nice and relaxing though with the hot bamboo. Nice experience 👍 minus the whole needing to jump up mid massage so I could take the video of Peter getting the bamboo rolled on his back hahah 😂 massages are crazy expensive in NZ too so it's definitely a luxury there as well! - Yen
