Just marked some more "places to visit" on my Google Maps... I made a very brief visit to Karuizawa in 2018, when I was driving the Usui Pass Tōge while visiting "Inital D" places 😇. I found myself quite surprised to find this rather big city there, after experiencing the rural and empty Usui Pass road. So with all the lovely places presented here in this video, I guess I will visit Karuizawa again if possible. And by the way: Hamburg/ Germany covered in ice and snow these days, bright sunshine with chilly -5° C. ❄❄❄

I passed through some Initial D locations on a work trip to Gunma, I wonder if that’s part of the path you visited! Hamburg is always so cold, isn’t it! (I did a high school exchange there so have lots of fond memories there ☺️🇩🇪)

I went to Kuraizawa by accident last week, because I didn't know that the train I was on didn't stop in Sakudaira. Dang, I'd have gone ice skating if I knew they had it there, and it wasn't night time... like if that were my planned destination. The station area was fairly beautiful - looked like a ski town. But I guess Yuzawa in Niigata is 'the' ski town. But a bunch of skiiers were on the shinkansen, most of them European.

I think Karuizawa house was the best of the Terrace Houses. I want to skate on that rink, or is it a pond that froze over, and play hockey (or attempt to play hockey) at the rink Capt. Tsubasa plays at. The thing we all want to know is, howany times did Seera fall down while skating.

I always tell this story, but I got my motorcycle group eating ice cream after winter rides. We emptied out the freezer of the neighborhood store by the motorcycle shop and it was hard to restock in the wintertime. I think there's a Lawson nearby now but I don't know how much ice cream they have in the wintertime.

Man I can attest to the freezing cold at night especially in winter. I went to leave Ginzan Onsen the other day and thought I'd start waiting 30 min early for the 4:30pm bus back to Oishida Station. Got to the actual line and it was already packed with people. Ended up having to wait another 2 hours for the final bus because the original bus was too full for the rest of us Also forgot to bring my gloves that day 😅 DOH
@seerasan9 ай бұрын
Oh my gosh that’s awful 🥲 I actually experienced something very similar when I visited Ginzan Onsen myself in 2018.. the bus lines were crazy but I luckily befriended some older ladies at a cafe who kindly drove me to the next town down. (They literally saved me from that situation 😅… they really need more buses there can’t imagine how packed it is now!!!)
@AUCKata9 ай бұрын
@@seerasan Woah that was so kind of her. Luckily I was at the front of the line for the final bus. Still didn't get everybody on. I'm guessing those poor people at the back of the line would've had to taxi back....... or befriend a kind old lady 😄👵🏻 Yes they definitely need more buses. It was also on a Sunday so I don't think that helped either
