REXBURG -- A young father deployed overseas with the U.S. Army since September surprised his six-year-old daughter at school Friday as she and her classmates were playing Heads Up, Seven Up.
Sgt. Jory Brower left behind his wife, Jordyn Brower, and their three daughters, 6-year-old Payton, 2-year-old Paisley and 1-year-old Parker, when he was assigned to go to Syria in September. This was his second overseas deployment after serving in Afghanistan a few years ago.
Jordyn says the kids have been anxious to have their dad back, especially Payton.
"It's been stressful and crazy but she's ready to see her dad," Jordyn tells EastIdahoNews.com. "I'm excited for her to be with her dad as she's struggled the past few months."
Jordyn drove to Salt Lake City Friday morning to pick her husband up from the airport and then returned to Rexburg with the first stop being Adams Elementary School.
"I'm nervous to see her reaction. I don't know how she's going to react because she does so many different things when she gets excited," Sgt. Brower said before going inside the school.
Payton's teacher coordinated a game of Heads Up, Seven Up and as the students put their heads down, Sgt. Brower quietly walked into the classroom, touched his daughter's thumb and then, when everyone opened their eyes, she saw him standing in her classroom.
Following an emotional reunion, Sgt. Brower was reunited with Paisley and Parker in the lobby of the school.
EastIdahoNews.com went along for the surprise. Check it out in the video player above.

I love watching the children in these videos. The children and the families have given up so much for an unappreciative nation of gutless cowards.

Both my spouse and I were in the military, and let me tell you, there is absolutely no better felling in the world than coming home!! I'd always fly in and as soon as I'd see the Golden Gate Bridge, that did it for me! My spouse's homecomings were by ship, down in San Diego, those were the best. Navy deployments can be very long. As much as you're happy to see them, it is challenging fitting them back in after so long. Deployments for the military are very hard, even if you're both military. I have a sister, and her and her husband were also both military as well. We came from a Navy family and it was expected that each one of us would serve our country in one way or another. Three of 5 of us kids served in the military.

6 months? Is that all? My girlfriend has been in hostel territory in Syria for 16 months with NO CHANCE of seeing our 5 year old daughter. AT ALL. He must be AWOL or hiw else could he have escaped thar dangerous zone with no thought of those who have been locked up in an army base with little to no hope of seeing their families at Christmas time. THAT'S THE. AWFUL REALITY OF WAR. Hope but doubt this "brave" soldier ever saw any REAK action over there. So hasn't a clue what they are suffering without their families staring danger in the face ever hour of EVERY day! These people want this he'll to be OVER!

You're supposed to support the Sol-DIE-rs (soldiers) and be patriotic....... That's what they teach you in the government Owned and Controlled (Department of Education) Schools and colleges and America's Churches. Doesn't make it TRUE but people love the Lies 😉 They're too brainwashed to See the Truth. They don't even know who OWNS Washington DC!!!! They still VOTE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He is either lying or wearing the wrong uniform. If he’s active duty, which the patch on his left shoulder suggests he is with 3rd Group in NC. His unit would never let him where his uniform like this and be on TV…in Idaho, and he doesn’t meet the physical fitness requirements for that unit, even as support element. That leaves two more airborne options, either the guard or reserves. Which there are only two units and neither of their patches look like that. So, wrong uniform. Is this a case of stolen valor or an ate up Soldier? East Idaho News, you need to figure it out.

This is my husband! He has served 9 years in the army. With 2 tours, 1 to Afghanistan and 1 to syria. We don't have to explain to you each patch or meaning. He's earned everything he has! Respectfully piss off!
