It is SO COOL that you got to see these. I've never found a Mitsubishi Elevator yet in my life, but one day, I will find one. This is amazing!

Aha notice the part where you said these looked like Westinghouse machines? This is because back before Westinghouse got acquired, Mitsubishi had a technical partnership with them. There has been evidence of both companies sharing similar selectors during the 70s and 80s and there is even a 1970s high rise mitsubishi in Singapore with Westinghouse bells.

have not seen a geared traction machine like this before. Resembles a band saw with the upper wheel. The motor data plate 250V 50, 57 making a guess 50Hz 57A FLA oh 18 amps per phase.

2006. Maybe Mitsubishi GPS-III or NexWay-S?

Nice!! And I totally agree. Take all those safety guards off, paint the machines blue, and slap a big "W" on the side... it'd fool me for sure!

I noticed a transformer next to the controller cabinet curious if these might be 50Hz motors and the transformer is a 60-50 Hz type. The other interesting note, is 50 HP motor at 250VAC I would be expecting a modern geared AC traction machine with VF drive to running closer to 440VAC.

@@TheTheo58 Well, the US has a different power output unlike Europe. 440 Volts for these machines in the US could be dangerous.

I believe they look a lot like Westinghouse as back in about the 80s Mitsubishi and Westinghouse partnered up and that's probably why Mitsubishi keeps Westinghouses' design
