1989 mustang lx coupe with turbo coupe engine swap. t3/t4 hybrid turbo, A237 cam front mount intercooler, bobs log header ported & knife edged intake manifold, 95 GT throttle body.

Here in 2023. Just purchased a 1987 2.3L SVO. The price has skyrocketed for these cars. Anyway I always wanted a fox body like this one you have with a 4 cyl turbo. This body style is becoming more rare and expensive.

On a stock short block......mmmmmmmm.......I would suggest very moderate boost with a good tune. T3/T4 turbo kit if they are still available for the 2.3 Kent. I know there are a few dedicated kent parts companies out there. Tuning and head flow will be your friend. I know awhile back folks were doing the Volvo dohc head swap bc the factory 2.3 2.5 head just wouldn't get it done unless you want to do an aluminum/ billet head. If Racer Walsh is still around check them out...

Have you had problems blowing couplers off ? I have the same turbo and engine in my ranger and it has blown them off a few times, shits annoying

Stinger performance has some awesome couplers.the ones that came with my npr install kit are great quality and havnt been blown off yet

Sounds like a tractor in real life TBH , The cam from the ford ranger AKA "the ranger roller cam" add's 30HP to a turbo mustang cause they came with a flat tappet style cam which is also the reason these engines require Zinc in there engine oil

Yes it would fit, but I doubt you'd gain anything from it.

matt mejia I wouldn't recommend turbocharging your '93 as those are the 8 plug distributor-less engines. It's makes tuning it really hard to do. Best thing to do is swap in a thunderbird turbo coupe engine. How that helps..

matt mejia yes, distributor-less (no distributor) you need the distributor to tune the car. Unless you use a stand alone computer.

No, it isn't a direct bolt on. There is an increase in power but im not sure how much.

Ethan Berry I don't think this cam is in production anymore, it was a Ford Motorsport cam a237. Look into the bo-port cams, they are a better choice for turbo Fords..

Bo port 1.9 cam is wicked. Literally with an adjustable cam gear you can change the power band and you can feel it.

I found a crack in the plastic line going to the gauge, a new line fixed it..

@@xmo552 Yes you can and it will run, But you'll get better results with tune. I had a 85 SVO before, I always wished i could find an 86 for a reasonable price..
