buellreaucracy theres a stees shifter that reduces effort by 30 percent if i remember correctly, thats probably worth but not for 19 percent

Wow that's much work on the s550, saw a video on how to do it for the 2004 mustang, that was about 15 minutes work all inside the car. No need to remove anything outside the car. Now I understand dealers are asking much for replacing the shifter.

To install your short shifter: Disassemble car.......

Just go MGW! Not only is it a quieter system, smoother and better shifts but also an easier install. Adding all these bushing to band-aid the remote mount shifter will result in very bad NVH but marginally improved shifts. The shifter needs to be directly mounted to the transmission like Barton or MGW because this will fix alignment issues when shifting at higher RPM.

Why do you have to use the jamb nut?

Because of the shorter shift lever. Without the jamb nut, the shift knob would be to low on the lever causing reverse lockout engagement issues. -Landan

The Ford service manual calls for driveshaft removal. It can be completed with the driveshaft in the car, though. -Landan

One of the easiest installs took less than an hour, hardest part was getting the shift knob to screw on 😂🤣😂

Hi Bryan, we don't offer the front isolator bushing by itself on our site. We would recommend speaking to your local Ford dealer and see if they are able to order the bushing itself.

This is the reason I will not change my shifter. To much work just to get a simple difference. I drove another mustang with this shifter and to be honest wasn't much difference. Obviously a bit better gliding into gear but like I said not to much difference. No thanks
