Mustang GT ACTIVE EXHAUST: Full breakdown and Review [Startup, Revs, Driving]

Active exhaust on the 2018 - 2020 Mustang GT is without a doubt one of the coolest features for this generation. Lets breakdown each mode.
Digital Dash: 3:00

Here I will be going over every exhaust mode giving startups, revs, exhaust clips, and POV driving footage so you can get a good idea of what each sounds like as well as the volume variance of each mode.
The car has 2 starting modes, and 4 driving modes. The 2 driving modes are "Quiet" and "Normal". The 4 driving modes are "Quiet", "Normal", "Sport +", and"Track Mode".
If you are looking for a full in depth video of every aspect of the active exhaust, look no further!
Its definitely one of the coolest things found in the new Mustangs and just might beg the question, do you really need an after market exhaust?

Had mine tweaked slightly by a tuner. Now in quiet mode the valves open gradually and gets louder after 1500rpm. Valves also close whenever the gas is released. Sounds amazing

Active Exhaust is great. I'm planning on getting the Borla switch fire mid pipe. I think it just enhances the active exhaust. Gives it that popping and crackling it needs.

Nice video and explanation. I'm selling my Mustang Turbo 4 convertible for the GT convertible. My wife is paranoid to have anything too loud in our hood. I guess having the cops called on you for a loud motorcycle exhaust did not help.. My turbo 4 is just way too quiet and sport/track mode just does not make much of a difference in my 2016.

I believe it's the 401a package for the digital dash and dual zone climate, and driving modes. Active exhaust is available as an option. 301a package, comes with the mode selectors I think, but no digital dash, but again the active exhaust is an option. Hope this helps. Cheers!

No you have to buy the car equipped with it. You can probably get aftermarket active exhaust but it’s not going to work through the dash screen

@Aiden b It took a full five months. They had three work stoppages at Flat Rock during my order period. But it's an amazing car. The exhaust is loud and it cracks & pops even in normal mode(I was used to the factory SN-95 4.6 exhaust setups, which were all pretty tame aside from the wild 5.4 Cobra R), and the power the Gen 3 5.0 makes is incredible. Even the fuel mileage is impressive. I can get 19mpg city depending on how you're driving. The only complaint I have is with the tires. 255 Pirelli P Zero Neros are NOT up to controlling the Gen 3 Coyote. The performance pack for whatever reason was really expensive for 22', but the tires in that package are certainly more up to the task of controlling this engine lol. I can only imagine how bad it'd be with the standard 235s. I'm not jeopardizing my warranty to go faster though, so OEM tires it is lol. I have the 6-speed. The 10A is faster, but not nearly as fun in my opinion. Interior is better quality than older Mustangs were too. Mine doesn't have many options, so I kept the price way down.

I have a 2019 GT M-6 and I think the Sport+ setting for exhaust sounds amazing! Pretty much run it this way always! With the manual, it cackles and pops in-between shifts, and sounds evil on RPM pulls! Down shifts with the rev-matching also sounds awesome! Bone stock BTW.

You technically can. If you go into accessory mode you can out it on any setting, but at cold start they all sound the same (besides quite). It just adjusts after a minute if you haven't already changed setting prior to start.
