Eton's new nemesis: Geometrical Patterns. Oh goodness those were dirty stops, but he kept going!... if it weren't for those darn shapes hahaha. But he did the last one with evil triangles so good boy! And good job you, dang you Wallaces can stick in the saddle... thanks for the video!

Ok so he had a pony moment or two, but when he faced up to that geo pattern the next time he jumped it like a champ. There were also a couple of times when he looked like he was having fun. This pony needs his story told in a book.

He's getting so brave, all of the commotion, carts, people in masks, etc. What a good boy, even with the stops. Nice ride to the ditch, he looked like he questioned it but you gave him the confidence to get it done. Love watching Eton's progression!

Good for him to see everything even though he stopped! What matters is he is getting more experience and confidence. Dirty stops though! Got right up to the base and swung out. So funny how you talked to him but got him over well.

Great job staying mounted during the short stops! Those saw-tooth pattern jumps tend to give problems; something to work on for the next time. No issues with the ditch or water (natural obstacles). I really appreciate the skill and patience you use in training these Mustangs.

To be fair, those fences looked like great pointy teeth! More excitement than probably anyone wanted. But you stayed on, he stayed under, he went over. He recovered and listened, and by the last "jaws of death" fence he remembered "Mom says this is okay." and accepted it.

Looking at it from this POV, it must be very confusing for him seeing all these jumps in a field and not knowing which one you’re going to ask him to take until you get closer. It requires so much trust which he is still building with you. I’ve seen people get so angry with them but you are so patient and encouraging every time

Are you asking how high the jumps are? If so, the Beginner Novice division that Eton will have to jump in a recognized event will be up to 2 feet 7 inches (.79m) for a fixed jump. The intro/starter division (can have sub-divisions called tadpole, sprout, ameba, green bean, etc.) has a maximum height of 2 feet (.6 meters). The highest National division, Advanced, has jumps up to 3 ft. 11 in. (1.2m) fixed. Hope this answers your question.

Ha! That would have been waaay to much pressure. While some can tolerate that, he can not. I don’t even carry a stick with him and that would’ve have sent him into the next county. It’s always been baby steps with him and the next time he comes out better for it and that’s how it will continue. 😎
