Mustang Recaro Racing Seats | Are they WORTH THE UPGRADE???

I was iffy on the recaros in my s550. Found one with it in them and had all the other options I wanted so figured I’d go with them. Now that I’ve got the car and have run them for a bit. They’re a phenomenal seat. Really comfortable, I can be on a road trip for hours and I’m good to go. I can hammer back roads and they hold you in so nice. Especially with the manual trans. They fit me well and aren’t really that hot compared to other leather buckets, even in the summer. Wish they were cooled/heated like the s650. But I haven’t really needed it. Plus it’s not my winter car and the a/c hammers, add the tinted windows and stays cool. They feel odd going from the standard seat or any other normal seat since the bolsters are aggressive. But drive it a few times and you won’t want to go back to the regular ones. I’m glad I have them. They’re def worth it

I was on the phone with a dealer an hour ago. He said fkn Ford offers the Recaro seats with all the options (cooling, heating and electrical adjustments) on the S650. I don't believe Ford and a dealer till I see it with my own eyes. LOL

I don't believe him either @raymadani! Perhaps the new models have the features but I doubt it. If you do check out the new models and they have the features, LET ME KNOW!!! I will do a follow up video then.

@@LifeOfaMatt I checked multiple reviews across the states and none mentions a cooling/heating Recaro. I'm in Australia and this prison island won't receive any of the model till mid 2024 so I can not personally check it out.

Definitely worth the upgrade!!!! Had the standard seats and they are comfortable BUT if you want to enjoy some twisties then the recaros are better!!

Exactly @Chriscure!!!! I really do love them. I was saying in another comment, since making this video, I have lost over 20 pounds and sitting in the 187 pounds range. I really love how they hug me now. I can not wait to take it to the track or on a twisting road in the summer!

The Recaros are a MUST have. My car will only go out in summer in New England. They are super comfy and weigh less. Cannot imagine the twistys without them. Have fun.

Although I sat in the stock s650 seats for the first time on Thursday I didn't really FEEL them. Today the sales guy through me the keys walked away and said don't drive her away without leaving a copy of my license. Anyhow, I really sat in the stock bucket leathers today. Personally they fit my 260lb frame perfectly. I thought for me that the Ricaros would be too tight but unless I sat in one I'm only assuming. I was surprised how much the stock seats hugged me. Thanks again!! Btw, I'll be back to 225 end of next year for sure 😉 Peace Brother!!

Yeah they are not for everyone. The standard seats are very nice too. In the end it was either take the car with the Recaros or wait who know how long and pay more to due inflation. You will win with either seat choice!

I feel like the heated seats was the number 1 reason my girlfriend came round to the idea of buying a stupid car 😆I've never sat in the Recaros, they look like they would make you feel awesome... even more awesome I should say.

LOL too funny SantiagoPilgrim!!! Yeah I had my doubts too but even after a year, I still love them. Yes I miss the heated seats (when I have them I use them year around) but being a mustang, they fit so perfectly. They make the drive so much more special. At all the car shows I attended, the seats got the most looks and comments too.

I have to say - the Recaro seats are not worth the upgrade especially when you loose the hot and cold seat function - yes they look great . Don’t waste ya money …….

I hear you @absolutely2935. I am 50/50 with them. If they didn't come with my car, I wouldn't have been upset. In the end I am really happy with them. The Recaros suck balls. I guess if you’re stuck on having the factory comforts and functions it’s what you have to work with but it’s not a great seat. For the money, go buy a good fixed back racing seat.
