Thats the reason why assembly lube exists. Its a very soft oil that is designed to protect the engine long enough for the engine oil to lubricate.

FYI, these mod motors do not spin fast enough to build fuel pressure in cranking conditions. It's more advantageous to prime the engine with motor oil with a hand pump, a quart or 2 will often do the trick. Then make sure the oil level is topped off.

The ford modular 4v engines blow away any ls on sound hands down and so does the chop once theyre cammed. This goes for the older 4vs like the 03 cobra and these shelbys have (albiet one is 4.6 one is 5.4 same architecture). The coyote also sounds good in a different more exotic way but i prefer the older 4v modulars like the cobra and gt500 but even the coyote sounds better than an ls you can only get chop with a cammed tune even real cams dont make coyotes chop because of the variable cam timing. Gtfo w your ls love on a mustang video.

Exactly what I was thinking.Had that situation and it toasted my 04 Terminator heads.Got no indication till it started bouncing timing surges.Pulled it over at a car wash and shut it down.Ovreheat indicator came on as soon as I cut the engine,toooooo late.Don't know if the coolant routing and sensor location are the same on these tho.
