All kidding aside, this was a really touching scene, they had absolutely no malice towards one another and in the end was for their individual faction's benefit, given the choice they might not have come to blows at all. Fun Fact: Ken Watanabe was supposed to be Kenshin, I would have loved to seen Him play that part.

between Kenshin and Usami? No, First off Usami Sadamitsu was a retainer of the Uesugi Clan and was the one that helped Kenshin get in power in the first place, secondly Kenshin would have been 14 at the time, not the same age as Sadamitsu. Sorry for the late reply, hope this helps.
