No such luck in my apartment, still I got to fix the gas stove and the washing machine last week with the handful of tools I can keep in here, made my wife really happy. I do have a tool shed at the holiday cabin (mostly carpentry stuff, as that's my main hobby), but I can't get there as often as I'd like to. Yeah, Mustie's videos are truly inspiring even if I'll never reach his skill level.

Brings back memories. Use to work at a cart track 42 years ago. Yes, I am old. It was a dirt track in Phoenix AZ. We oiled the track to keep the dust down. To much fun when it rained. Between the oil and water, it became a skating rink. Of course we had to close and only the employees had fun. I will not mention what happened after hours. Had something to do with the governors, LOL.

Mr. Mustie, if I may call you that, I have watched all of your most recent videos and some of your older videos. They inspired me to fix an old 1981 Jawa Moped. Two previous owners could not get it running. I found that the transmission seal and clutch seal were shot and leaking oil on the starter clutch shoes and running clutch shoes. I replaced the seals and clutch shoes and rode it for fun last summer. It tops out at 35 mph! Thanks for the inspiration. Who knew it was fun fixing small motor machines. Oh, and you sir are a master. You never launch parts across the shop!

Great fun! 30 years ago I was associated with a rental track that would bring 20 cars and a portable metal track to your event. We were rented at least twice every weekend and usually once during the week for a couple hours. As an employee we got very good at pushing the cars to the limits. When setup on dirt even with the metal frame it was possible to get the car up on two wheels left or right when you when you went into a hard turn and crank it. A few of us PROs actually flipped the car fortunately no one was injured. Later I built a dual chainsaw racing go-kart that could out corner a Corvette through a Cloverleaf. Luckily no one was ever arrested for being out on the public streets. When you're going a hundred miles an hour inches away from the pavement the feeling is unbelievable.

Seekonk Grand Prix used to have two outdoor tracks. One was a typical “family” go cart track, lined with a metal bar that matched up with the bar that the other guy removed and old tires for rebound. The other track was the fun one; an oiled down slick track. It was a simple oval but fun as hell to whip those tanks around the corners and bounce off of unsuspecting 10-year-olds and the metal barriers. They’ve done some recent renovations with a new ropes course, bumper boats, a couple kids tracks a big arcade and rock climbing. I think they eased up a bit with the oil on the slick track though. I remember it being much more dangerous (fun)

I think those rubber bumpers are in fact a rubber extrusion bumper that used to be used in surface trains in Europe (early 2000s to late 2000s), at least, i remember it being so years ago. Someone got their hands on a long strip and chopped it in short bits. Many they really used everything off the shelf for this, left nothing untouched.
