One correction - when Storm is infected by a brood embryo in space (Uncanny X-Men 165) - she summons the galactic core and briefly becomes a star-like entity in space. She also can utilize solar winds/flares. Her powers aren't restricted to planet - manipulation.

One thing you got wrong, Storm have controlled a cosmic storm. I can't remember the issue. I believe the X-men were fighting the brood. Edit: She also fought silver surfer and galactus in space in fantastic four 546 in 2007 and when you read how she's able to fight silver surfer ie by manipulation of hydrogen atoms to create a localized atmosphere she's really a matter manipulator

Two corrections Rob 1 - Storm *HAS* controlled cosmic weather before. Not only the galactic core feat but she's also controlled solar winds and solar lightning bolts. You yourself bring this up in your "Omega Level/Beyond Omega Level" video about her. Perhaps it just slipped your mind. No one expects you to flawlessly remember everything every mutant has done. 👌 2 - Emma's use of her diamond form has become as common as her use of telepathy. In fact there are often times where her telepathy is rendered useless by some means or another and her diamond form is the only thing keeping her relevant/safe. Her daughters the stepford cuckoos are the ones who rarely use their diamond form. Which is ironic since there's is considered "flawless" and by default more powerful tan Emma's.

Storm took on the Trion which is a multiversal Trinity of Gods that overlooks an entire dimension and she wrecked them. She tapped into their reality's energies and bended it to her will healing their dimension and saving lives along with those of her teammates. It was also stated they feared her for what she could do. I have the comic to this day. As we all know a dimension is composed of many worlds/ planets and she saved them all from dying by healing the fabric of their reality

I mean she draws energy from the earth to create weather here on earth and in space she draws from stars, planets and even entire galactic cores to create cosmic phenomena... can she push this some steps further? Which is why I have a problem with her Omega classification 'Weather Manipulation'. Ororo has proven to be able to control and create All forms of atmospheric phenomena. Her Omega description should be 'atmospheric phenomena'. She is also way more Powerful than Omega when you think about it beyond the realm of simplified weather. Love your comment btw. Love seeing ppl think beyond the simplicity others keep pushing.

@@coreykerry I absolutely agree. like in the giant size storm book she creates a storm from nanobots and in her solo she directly manipulates the magnetic fields of the planet that is the magnetosphere to even create earthquakes and lava bursts. She also states her power goes even deeper than just weather all the way to the very fundamental forces that determine weather... I still cant wrap my head around that what does it mean that she can manipulate the fundamental forces that determine weather itself. What are these fundamental forces what are their end. It's all too big to wrap my head around...lol.

I'm glad Jean Grey has been recognised (even though she's always been an omega level mutant since new x men). Before you come for my neck. She's an omega level mutant because her omega level power is telepathy. Her telepathy has an undefined upper limit which therefore makes it omega level like QQ (even though in regards to Jean grey he's not as good as her).

Here's an example of Magneto's Omega Level Powers which was pretty recent (past 20 years I think), right after Magneto joins Cyclops faction on Utopia he manages to snag the planet destroying missile from Break World Kitty Pryde was phased into from interplanetary space and gave it a soft landing at his feet.

Can you elaborate why this is a omega level feat then? How does snagging a earth-destroying, building sized, missile out of space make him a omega level THREAT? Yes, his powers reached beyond earth but the effect was not omega or threatening in my opinion. But I might be wrong... On the other hand, he might indeed be omega or above. Better examples would be the time he created a wormhole, became a celestial himself or reverses the earth's polarity.

@@jeroen1989 It means his powers expand past Earth's Magnetic field to the force of electro magnetism itself which is one of the 4 major forces which govern our universe according to physics, he literally tapped into a cosmic force and reached beyond the solar system to snag a piece of metal with exotic properties not known on Earth and guided it back toward Earth negating gravitational force which is another of the 4 major forces which govern the universe; basically this suggests he not only has mastery of Electro Magnetism but he could effect other forces such as Gravity out side of the influence of the Earth and the Solar System at interplanetary distances so I'd argue that makes him not just a beyond Omega Level Mutant it might make him a reality warper on some level if he really started thinking outside of the box.

No way Rob, Apocalypse is an External, it was confirmed in recollections from other Externals, and other flashbacks through out the 1990s; this wasn't changed but added to during the X Force run when Archangel became the new Celestial Mid Level Manager over evolution (same thing happens when ever some one gets planted with a Death Seed.

I have watched and re-watched so many of Rob's videos. I ran into a fan of Rob's at my favorite brewery tonight, and we geeked out about our love of comics and the way/love Rob lends to our fandom.

*IMPORTANT* Yes plz I'd ask that you address the statement on Storm to correct it. She is in fact beyond omega. For multiple reasons. *Space/Cosmic Manipulation* : For one as to your reasoning as to why she not beyond omega due to not manipulating anything beyond earth. She has on multiple occasions used cosmic/space related powers not only while in space. (X-men #99 she uses solar winds and lighting while in space to defeat a Sentinel) She has also used them while on planet she uses solar winds to attack gladiator whom was no slouch back then. *Transcending Mortal Coil* : To push her even further. In the age of Apocalypse story line at the end there was a vision of the future where Storm finally transcended into her fully elemental form which has been a concept that has happened a few times. So no longer just seeing the world in terms of energy but also becoming apart of that energy. Yes it was retconned but it was originally set in earth-616 *GodHood* : But not only that Storm now has been confirmed to be a God/Goddess. in BP #17(2019) They actually go into her Title which is "Goddess who preserves the balance of all natural things." Which was for told in Wanda but also back in Cairo in a mini series about her child hood. An in Shari #9 they talk about her Godhead (mainly the state a god is always in allowing them tap into the powers of the gods. Also the title of the Top god of a pantheon) *Magic* : Simpy she has a very strong affinity to magic stemming from her bloodline. But I also believe it is because due to mystical energies being all around she can also tap into that energy since it is within and apart of the atmosphere.

Someone talking about Omega level mutants I like to use this example to help explain something. What I'm wanting to explain is that your power itself doesn't make you an Omega level mutant it's been stated in the comics that an Omega level mutant is someone with yes a powerful ability but that person perceives their own power in such a way you're able to take it to another level beyond what it normally is. The best example is magneto in my opinion. Magneto can control the electromagnetic field and he's done so many things with this even creating black hole. It's been stated in the comics even if someone had Magneto's exact power most people wouldn't do it the way he does so they would never be able to use it the exact way he does it's not that his power is so broken it's that he found a way to break it with his idea of the power itself. Another good example is jubilee in her power. A lot of people joke around about how her power isn't that strong or something but it's been stated in the comics before is jubilee was to rethink her powers and how she's controlling pyrotechnics she could get to the level of literal nuclear blast. so when you say it like an Omega level mutant is that level because they have this power that's not exactly true while the power is a factor the individual is a another factor entirely.

Honestly I hope they do bring back the beyond omega level classification, seeing all the Omega level mutants there, some of those mutants have shown beyond universal control when involving their mutant abilities, best examples being Nate grey and Franklin richards respectively. Seeing Franklin on the omega level scale of where iceman, storm, magneto and Jean are just doesn't seem right since even on their best day, all of them combined couldn't come close to the ammount of power Franklin can unleash.

Very interesting that you brought this all up! I would like to know more about Cyclops and his brother Havoc. As I understand Cyclops conclusive blasts come from another dimension, does Havoc’s power reside in a similar fashion. I am aware also that Havoc and Cyclops powers cancel each other out. That's not true regarding Storm either, during the Brood Saga when Carol Danvers became Binary I remember Storm gaining control of cosmic patterns or something from the flow of particles going through space (she hasn't done that often but I remember Chris Clairmont pulling that out a handful of times.).

How a healing factor works would determine if it makes a mutant Omega or beyond. Take Wolverine's healing factor. If it works in the absence of food an water, then that means his body is capable of making something from nothing; his healing factor is a philosopher's stone.

Nice explanation and it ties in to what Hickman is trying to do in this "reboot" of his. What I find baffling is that people mix up some easy stuff.For example: - Jean Grey, on her own, is an Omega Level Telepath but NOT an Omega Level Telekinetic. When the Phoenix Force possesses her, then and ONLY then can she be classified as Beyond Omege Level. - Storm, on her own, is an Omega Level Weather Manipulator. When she used solar flares and stuff in order to survive in outer space she was being infected by that brood thingy that augmented her powers for only that period of time. As for people that have the POTENTIAL to be classified as Omega Levels, that means that they are Alpha and IF and WHEN they are able to improve their powers on their own, without any external interference like the Phoenix Force or a drug that enhances your powers, only then will they be able to classified as Omega Level Mutants. . .. ... Like you have, a basketball player like Michael Jordan who can be classified as an Omega Level Basketball player and you have Giannis Antetokounmpo that is an Alpha Level Basketball player with the POTENTIAL to become an Omega one. IF he does not improve himself even further, then he will NEVER become an Omega one.

I would agree that Magneto is an Omega Level Mutant because of his ability. That one ability he would be able to warp reality, but he can't create ice cream out of thin air......…….. But he could destroy the multiverse with just that one power that he does have. That's crazy. If he would've been a scientist, he would be able to master the periodic table, he would be able to do anything
